Help!

Hello!

I have been a member of these boards for some time. I enjoy reading all of the information although I rarely post. However, I am having a problem making a decision for my family's upcoming trip (July 7 - 16, 2005). I have AAA membership, but I am truly thinking that maybe it would be better if I purchased an AP. What do you Disney Professionals think? If we go by way of AP, does anyone know the best price for that time. I am not able to log onto the system without one.

Since we are a family of five I was considering two rooms at a value or one room at POR Riverside.

I appreciate any information that you give.

I'm assuming you mean 2006?

There is no way to know what the discount might be if any at all. It all depends on supply and demand. A room with a AAA discount can be booked now and you will know for sure what the cost will be. A room with an AP discount (if available) cannot be booked until 120 days out.

I wouldn't buy an AP in the hopes of a discount that might not materialize. But, I'm not much of a gambler.

Here's my 2c....don't know if it's worth even that, tho!

We are a family of 5 also, 3DSs. I switched our ressies from 2 rooms at CBR with AAA rate (through Disney) to one at YC with BRP for $200 less-- the same ressie would have saved $400. The cost of the PAP was $250 more than the 8 day MYW tx with water park option. Then, I purchased the Dining Experience card for $50 and can save 20% on most meals.

I don't have any plans to be back within the year, but it was definitely worth it.

Since you're this far out, I would make the AAA ressie thru the Disney #, so you have a room. Wait until the AP discount rates are out for your vacation week then ask one of us here at the DIS to check the AP rate for you. If it's a better savings, order your AP, make those ressies and cancel the AAA one. aw:
