Help, I'm going the first week of August and have heard the crowds are bad now, imagine what they'll be like then:earseek: can anyone give me pointers on how to avoid crowds? Thanks

If you're staying onsite, take advantage of early entry, but then switch to a different park. Switch to the park that had early entry the previous day.

Take a break mid-day for a swim or nap.

Use fast pass.

Avoiding crowds at WDW in the summer is pretty much impossible. You can make it less crazy by doing early entry if you're staying on-site, then hopping to another park before noon. Use Fastpass as often as you can, it also makes things much better than they used to be. Consider doing the bulk of your touring early and late - the parks are most manageable then. Otherwise, try and enjoy the crowds - they can make for a very festive atmosphere.:D

The crowds actually start to lessen each week after the 4th of July. I've been twice during the 2-3 week of August and the crowds really aren't bad.

Epcot handles crowds really well so it can have a lot of people and still not feel crowded. MK feels crowded a lot of the time. Use EE, and if you choose not to do EE get there early.

Remeber to use the train at MK when you want to leave the park. Do EE, then plan on being over at Splash Mountain, or ToonTown when you want to leave at mid-day. Hop on the train, rest your feet, and ride to Main Street for your "escape". The crowds will be heavy mid-day, and to plow thru them going in the opposite direction is so tiring!

Don't worry about crowds. Go! Have fun!
