We are going to DLP in August.

My DD was upset about the poor reports for our hotel, NBC but I have managed to put her mind at rest but some kind person has told her that the rats on PC are real and not models. This has freaked her out. I am so  as this is one of her best rides.

Is anyone going soon and would they be able to take a sneaky photos to so that I could show her they are not real.

They also told her they are swimming arround you all the time. I am very cross as she is now not looking forward to this holiday and it is meant to be a special holiday as her/my DH is very ill.

Can anyone please help and put her and my mind at rest.
I know they are everywhere but I am 42 she is only 16 and really nervous about going outside as it is. Has problems with crowds/toilets/food in public, and disney has always been the one place she has been able to relax in and not worry. It has always been one of our families safe places. Sorry for rambling.

PC? is that Pirates of the Caribbean? I've not noticed any fake rats in the ride, are they supposed to be somewhere specific?

I hope you had a stern word with whoever told your daughter about rats being so close to her everywhere she is outside (although its generally true, everywhere there are lots of humans there are rats nearby). Theres no need to press the point home though, is there :confused3?

I've certainly never seen rats on there. They definitely aren't swimming all around in the water. What a shame someone has told her this.

Can you watch YouTube videos with her to ease her mind a bit?

Thanks for the replies.

Yes meant Pirates of the Caribbean.
I do not remember rats but she does!

I had not thought of seeing if any videos on youtube, torsie24, what a great idea. I might watch them on my own first though!

Yes I could scream that someone told her this and on the same night I tried to put her mind at rest by showing her the hotel on tripadvisor and saw the mouse video, staying at NBC. So did not get much sleep this weekend as so worried that I have booked the wrong hotel, had wanted to stay at SQ but been there and thought it would be nice to stay someplace else!

I've been on Pirates of the Caribbean hundreds of times and never seen a rat, real or pretend. There are 2 cats and some dogs, goats, hens, a donkey and pigs, but no rats, and none of them real.

Thanks thats what I remember. I will show her what you have all posted.

Reminds me of a joke I heared once "Rats are like Manchester United fans, your never more than 6 feet away from one". :rotfl2: Just tell your DD the only rats she will see while at DLP will be Remy and Emile.

Possibly the "joker" may have been referring to the rats eyes that light up in several places around the ride. Look up as you go up the incline and you will see lots of little twinkling eyes and again in nooks and crannies by the captain's room and where the skeleton is having a drink near the end of the ride. At least that is what I have always taken the eyes to represent but they are definitely not real! :goodvibes

I wish...

Last fall I was leaving the Small World area and a pretty big rat ran over the path about two meters away from me. :scared: So yeah, it's true about the six feet.
