Help!

Your flowers would certainly count towards you minimum.

Have you looked into doing a Swan and Dolphin wedding? They're more flexible with everything and you could still have your dessert party! :thumbsup2
Thanks, I have looked into it, I just feel like for me and my fiance there is something "missing" at the venue. :/

I see what you mean when you're just looking at the location itself but when it's all set up I have seen some beautiful weddings. I love this picture on the river bank with a lovely archway and candles. :lovestruc

If the Swan and Dolphin doesn't work for you there are other options within the Disney grounds such as Buena Vista Palace, which is stunning!

The only other option would probably be to cut your guest count unless your planner can think of ways to keep you to the absolute minimum. It's always worth speaking with them and explain the situation. They'll do all they can to help you.

Don't lose heart you'll get your dream wedding. :flower3:

I still think it's possible to do a DFTW at the 10k minimum with 50 people, you'd just have to be very strict with what you spend, and you probably won't be able to have any extras. Also keep in mind though that the 10k minimum does not include taxes and service charges so you would easily be paying at least 11k even if you aren't a cent over the 10k. Have you thought about possibly lowering your guest cound, or doing an Escape wedding?

Hi, yes we are willing to cut to about 35. I am counting 10,000 as my budget but have about 1500 set aside separately from that $10,000 to cover taxes and fees. So, I guess my budget is $11,500.

:

I am trying to see if there is ANYWAY to make it work. I am still pretty confused by the minimums. Like, if I do brunch or lunch and have to spend $75-$100 per guest, do flowers for bridesmaids count in that or no?

No—nothing counts toward the $75-$100-per-guest food and beverage minimum except food and beverages and cake. The flowers for the bridesmaids would count toward the overall $10,000 minimum though.

If you can get your guest count down to 35, you can totally do a Wishes wedding for $10,000. We had 34 guests and paid $10,069 (+ tax and service charge) total, plus we had things that some would consider "extras" like a dessert party, a Magic Kingdom photo shoot, and a ride on a Friendship boat. You can read all the nitty-gritty details in my consolidated planning journal, which is HERE.

I have emailed my consultant with my new budget, lets see what kind of magic she has up her sleeve!

Lurkyloo to the rescue as ever :thumbsup2

P.S Just checked out your report on your DHS anniversary dinner, just wanted to say it all looked fab! You've got me thinking of something me and my DH could do! :)

I'm glad you found it helpful—I know I was pretty excited when I found out such a thing could be done!

Ok, my consultant said my only real option is an escape wedding. Im a lil bummed, since I have alot of people to invite :/ It seems the escape weddings are beautiful though (from what Ive seen on the disboards).

I'm so sorry it's not quite what you want, but you could always have a Disney themed wedding party when you get home and invite everyone.

You still get to invite 18 guests so it's not going to be a tiny wedding and you're at Disney you'll have the most wonderful day. :)

I'm not sure if this helps at all but there is a couple getting married at Fultons at DTD, perhaps this may be an option for you? I think you just contact the restaurant and go from there. I did a quick boards search and found a couple of threads on it if you're interested:

You're very welcome.

I hope you get the wedding of your dreams :cloud9: do keep us posted with your plans! :)
Ok, so my fiance just called me from weapons qual (he's in the army), talking about how beautiful an escape wedding will be and how there is nothing more he wants then to marry his princess at disney :lovestruc . He even suggested we have just close family at the ceremony and invite our other friends to a dinner and the dessert party that night. Im feeling better and better about this!!!

Is your new budget $10k total or before taxes and service charges?

You could have a morning ceremony and a brunch and only have to meet the $10k minimum for a wishes wedding. if you stayed close to the 10k minimum then taxes/service charges wouldn't be that much more. My taxes/service charges were under 2k.

10k before tax, but it has to include photography, etc.
Then I agree, an Escape wedding is perfect for you. just cut back to immediate family, as long as you're happy don't worry about everything else. My family had a ton of opinions but weren't paying any $$ towards the wedding so the only opinion that mattered was ours bc we were paying for it ourselves.

That sounds perfect. :goodvibes

If you plan the dinner yourself then you can have as many people as you want at dinner at any of the resort restaurants. I'm not 100% about the dessert party though I'm sure someone else on here will know.

You'll have a wonderful time, we most certainly did! What's important is you and your fiance.

Did you have an escape wedding? Yes, i am feeling good about this! We want the wedding pavilion, and I absolutely love the idea of the cake cutting being at the Grand Floridian with a violinist. I just need to figure out dinner and dessert party.

I completely agree, we will have no help either, so we really just want small and intimate so we can focus on us.

We had an escape wedding in November 2010. We had a very small wedding, just the two of us in fact as we combined it with our honeymoon at Disney.

We got married at Sea Breeze Point then went to Victoria and Albert's for the most amazing meal of our lives - then wandered down to Narcoosee's to watch the Wishes fireworks :lovestruc

For us it was perfect, really laid back and simple.

There are loads of options for dinner and dessert parties I'm sure you'll find the perfect location for you - consult the passporter bible! - ha! :thumbsup2
