Due to moving we are going to take our 15 yr old daughter to Disney for Christmas. My husband just decided this a few days ago. So now I am trying to find places for us to eat. We are going to do the military 4 day hopper pass but from what I've read once you get into MK on Christmas day if you leave you probably won't get back in. Any ideas on places to eat? I had thought we'd go to the Liberty Tree Tavern but according to the website they are booked from 2pm-6pm.

Finding an MK ADR for Christmas Day at this point is probably not going to happen unless you are lucky enough to snag a cancellation. I would plan on counter service, and keep checking the website. Call Disney Dining while you are there as well and see if they have anything open, but I think it's very unlikely (Christmas Day is the most crowded day of the year or one of the top two anyway).

Agreed, those restaurants were probably completely booked up 6 months ago. There's just no overstating how packed the MK is on Christmas Day. It likely will close by mid morning, and even lines for counter service food will be insanely long.

My suggestions would be.....

Do MK any other day but Christmas. If you just want the experience of being in the Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day, get there before rope drop. But the MK decorations, entertainment, etc, won't be any different on Christmas than they will any other day during your stay, so if at all possible, choose a different park that day and visit MK another day. You'll have a much better experience and get a lot more rides in.

If you do want to be in MK on Christmas Day, just for the atmosphere, consider leaving around lunchtime and eating at one of the monorail resorts. You may still be able to get an ADR at Grand Floridian Cafe, The Wave or Kona Cafe (but call ASAP - don't put it off). If you can't get an ADR, the counter service is good at all 3 monorail resorts.

I agree with the Previous Posters. If you really want to be at the MK on Christmas day try to get there early. It will close at capacity during some point in the day. We usually get there about 10:30am. We have no expectations of doing rides this day. It is a day we sit around waiting for parades and fireworks.
I would book something that interests you for an ADR somewhere, before they are gone.
Keep an eye on the December cancellation thread, maybe someone will post a reservation they decided they didn't need.

seatings available Christmas day but I don't see any in the MK all day. That's not that unusual for the MK any day this close to the date. There are some at Grand Floridian, Kona and The Wave at various times but that does require leaving the park.

You may know this already but the Disney site has the ability to show you all dining openings throughout the parks for a given time range. That may be your best option for locating something.

I agree with the others. Another thing you could try is to be one of the first people at MK and ask for ressies at Guest Relations. If not, head right to the preferred restaurant and ask at the podium. If that fails I would stick to CS and try to be the first one in the restaurant.

WARNING! The 2010/2011 Armed Forces Salute Tickets are blocked out and cannot be used between Monday December 27 and Friday December 31.

You can use the regular military discounted tickets, but they are about a 10% savings and you have to get them at either SoG or a MRW/ITT Office.
