We took our first trip as DVC members back at the first of June and loved it so much that we added on points while we were there. When we got home I banked the points thinking we would not use them until the spring of next year since of christmas trip is paid for. Now we have decided we would like to go down for a few days in September or October. How do I use the banked points? When I call MS will they know we have these points or do I have to tell them?

Thanks,
Lissa:tinker:

I'm new to DVC myself and by no means an expert. However, I don't think you can "undo" a banked points transaction. I believe you would have to borrow from next years points to do the Sept/Oct trip and then use the banked points next year for your Spring trip.

It depends on when your Use Year is...which you didn't tell us in your original post.

If your current UY ends before your Sept/Oct trip, you will be in next UY and MS should automatically apply the banked points to your ressie. If that's the case, be sure they do, because the banked points will expire at the end of your next UY if not used.

If your UY begins after your trip, you will have to use current UY points if you have any, or borrowed points from next UY if you don't. You will not be able to use the points you banked, because once banked, points can't be "unbanked" back into the year they came from.

Not sure that makes sense, but if you'll tell us what your UY is, we can explain it better.

Hi Lissa, Since your purchase of the add on was so recent, I might suggest calling your DVC Guide and explaining the situation. Perhaps they could work a little magic and reverse the banking of the new points. Otherwise, you have the option of borrowing as mentioned above. Looking forward to meeting you on the cruise! :cool1:

Thanks everyone! I will call our guide today and talk to her. Our use year is December so our trip would be before that.

Lissa
