Help with Worldperks flight miles!!!

Here I go again, trying to redeem my flight miles for next March or April. I am unable to get anything yet but if they don't come through almost a year out I was told they book very quickly and then are gone for good. Anyone have good advice on this? I just want to use these up and get rid of them.

humm, I have booked lots of free tickets with my worldperks miles. I've never had a problem. I always fly NYC to Minneapolis. Maybe the flight(s) you want are booked up for miles? I also generally book my trips only a month or two ahead and have never had a problem.

Are you booking on-line? Maybe call the customer service number and ask them.

Not sure where in Michigan you are from and trying to fly from, but we ALWAYS have problems getting WorldPerks flights out of here....

I keep calling every day....call customer service. Last Dec we went to Orlando and could not find tickets...finally a service Rep looked and told us we could fly into Jacksonville....I took those 3 seats...hoping that they would change a portion of our flight so that one of our connections didn't work out.....they did and we ended up getting any flight we wanted out of Orlando....

I have also heard that if you wait until very close to the time you want to leave that seats sometimes open up..but, I have never had the nerve to prove it out.

you honestly might be too far out. I've never tried to get one that far in advance. good luck!

NW opens up worldperks availability 330 days out. So, if your departure is within 330 days, but your return is not, you have to wait until both dates are within the available window.

Also, have you checked other local airports? Here's a list of airports that may have award availability if there is none out of Detroit (assuming you're starting in Detroit)
LAN - Lansing
FNT - Flint
TOL - Toledo Express
TDZ - Toledo Intl

If you wouldn't mind doing a little longer drive, there's also
AZO - Kalamazoo
GRR - Grand Rapids
BTL - Battle Creek
CMH - Columbus OH
MQT - Marquette MI
BUF - Buffalo NY
ORD - Chicago O'Hare
MDW - Chicago Midway
MSN - Madison WI

Or other possible destinations
SFB - Orlando Sanford
TPA - Tampa/St Petersberg
FLL - Ft Lauderdale
JAX - Jacksonville

If all else fails, you could always try awardplanner.com, which is a travel agency that specializes in FF Award flights.

I can tell you, flying out of MPLS won't help you. I have been trying since the day my window opened for October, and cannot get anything! Same thing when I tried for last December, nothing. I ended up buying tickets on Delta instead. Last I checked, NWA has actually increased their window to 352 days out (no idea why). I have 90000 miles sitting in my account, and the only way I can use them right now for October, is to use $50000 and pay for 3 more tickets (which are almost $400 right now). NWA is so frustrating!!!

Yup...MSP is where we have our problems too....fairly easy to get the ticket from out little airport...but flights only go through MSP from here.....and that is where the problem is for us anyway.

Whoops, I don't think I'm paying $50000 for one ticket, that should be 50000 miles LOL.

Sorry to hear that elgerbear. I've never had any problems. DH and I went in November and I think I booked miles in maybe September.

Erika - apparently Oct. is busy! I just looked and they have standard fares for August and December, but I didn't see any for Oct (just put in rough dates). That's a bummer!!

Well, I decided to visit my mom in Venice and then go to WDW with her and my daughter. So I was able to get lousy times from Flint to Sarasota. The rep said everything in April was gone so I had to make it for March. I have 90,000 miles and was able to get 1st class for my daughter and I and then these stupid miles will be gone and I will cancel my card. I hope the Disney Visa works better for me. I hate having to deal with a company like that, I never would have gotten this visa if I had any clue they would be so difficult to redeem the miles. Sorry others are having trouble but I am glad it is not just me! I don't want to wait and see if I get a better flight, it is just too stressful for me that way.

We used to fly using the worldperks miles no problems. But the last year and half, it's been just impossible. They want at least double the miles for everything! We had flown to Orlando twice using them, but not anymore. Not even to Boise without using double miles! I think they are doing it on purpose.
