Help with Wii ?

Hi ! I bought a Wii for a Christmas gift - it came with the Wii Sports game. It also has the nunchuck and a remote.

Should I buy a second remote and nunchuck ? There seem to be a lot of accessories for this console.

Any help would be great.

I have not bought any additional games yet but would like to get one of the Mario games & Cook or Be Cooked. Maybe these take different accessories?

I would recommend you that you buy an extra remote and nunchuck. That way you won't have much fighting over the game on Christmas morning.

You really only need 4 wii remotes (or 1 per family member if your family is smaller) and 2 nunchucks. Most multiplayer games do not require the nunchuck. I would also recommend rechargable batteries with a seperate recharging station over the docks. The docks burn out fast.

We've had our Wii for two years and only had two remotes until very recently. We are a family of 5, but just switched off with the remotes to take turns. I guess it depends on what games you plan to get.

We just had the Sports that comes with it and Wii Play that came with the extra remote when we got it two years ago for Christmas. That was enough to have fun and get started. We took the kids out and let them pick out a game a few days later. Since then we've bought games for various occasions (birthdays, etc)

Mario Kart is a big hit in our family. My one daughter likes to use the steering wheel, but everyone else just uses the remote and nunchuck. Many of the other accessories are not necessary and we never use them. (The tennis racket, golf club, etc)

I love Super Mario Sunshine, it was the first game released for the Wii and I think it is still one of the Best.

we also only have two motes, two nunchucks and two wii motion plus' we just switch out also.

we use rechargable batteries.

I did see the wii mote charger station at big lots today for $16.99 and was tempted to try it.

Also check out the Dollar Tree last week they had tennis rackets, bats, golf clubs and driving wheels

50$ is a good price considering you can buy the wii mote for 40$ and the nun chuck for 20$. And the wii motion is another 20$. Although some stores are offering combos for 50$. Either the motion/mote or mote/nun chuck.

My friend just bought the energizer recharging pad. You can leave the batteries in the mote, and just lay it on the pad. You can even leave the rubber sleeve on it. It's 30$ at Best Buy, it comes with two sets of batteries, and the pad. If I had the money, it'd be one of the things I'd get.

How cool is that? We have a dock charging system, but I always hate having to pull the rubber sleeves off and on all the time to charge. We'll have to get one of these pads, for sure. Thanks!

I just bought the wii for my children this year. Toy's R Us has a sale on the games right now so that you can buy one and get one half off. I bought Mario Kart & Wii Play yesterday and it saved me a good amount of money.
