My best friend is trying to come up with somewhere to go over the summer for vacation. I suggested Disney but she doesn't want to be anywhere with alot of families or small children. (Had a miscarriage recently and unable to get pregnant) She wanted to do Vegas in mid July, but I said not a good idea. (She's not street savy and no way she would be able to sit at the pool and just get a tan.) SO she basically wants somewhere she can chill at a pool and tan, not see alot of kids, doesn't necessarilly need a car, people won't notice she is alone. She nixed anywhere north, because she says it will be too cold:confused3 (I had suggested a couple places in Canada, Colorado, and Michigan) I also suggested a cruise, but she says she would be forced to eat with strangers at a table. SO here is the challenge, WHERE can she go??:confused3

Does she like history? If so, Charleston is a great place to come and visit, do things when you want to and at your own pace. We have plantations, gardens, museums and museum houses, tours (on foot, by bus or by carriage) and great beaches and restaurants where no one would bother her.

I hope your friend finds the perfect place to relax.

Not to be argumentative, but Vegas sounds perfect. Only problem is that it is a bit hot to spend all day at the pool.

But you've got great pools, not a lot of kids, you don't need a car, nobody cares if you are alone, etc...

I vote Vegas, too. I don't think there are many safer places than a casino, to tell you the truth. My guess is you're safer there than you are in the Magic Kingdom.

If she wants to go to Vegas, encourage her. :)

In the summer, I might go to the mountains. Do some hiking, take in all the beauty. Think. But your friend doesn't want to go north, right?

Vegas.

What about an all inclusive resort? Or a singles cruise ... alot of cruise lines do that. And you don't need to eat with strangers if you don't want to ... you can eat at the other restaurants or the buffet places.

My cousin and I are 2 single gals taking a cruise to Bermuda in June. Norwegian Cruise Line offers "freestyle cruising," which means you eat wherever and whenever you want. There are no assigned times or tables. Why don't you look into that? Good luck :thumbsup2
