Let me just start this off by saying that I am an idiot for booking our Barcelona airfare through Travelocity. I always book directly with the airlines, but after extensive research, saved about $900 by booking through Travelocity. Well, you get what you pay for.
What I need now is some advice from you travel experts on what to do. In a nutshell, last week Air Canada changed our initial flight out of SEA so that we cannot make our YVR connection. I called Travelocity on Friday and after 45 minutes on the phone, got all our outbound flights changed (or so I thought). I was told at the end of the call that I would have a confirmation email within the next 5 minutes.
I still had not received the email by Saturday afternoon, so I called back to confirm. It turns out that the 1st agent had not made any of the changes. So another 45-minute call followed and the 2nd agent assured me that everything had been changed and that I should receive an email within the next 12 hours. Nope!
Called back Sunday night. Had another 45-minute phone call. The agent sent me the confirmation email while I was on the phone and I can see all the changes on my account on Travelocity. All is now well - not!
Lufthansa can't find our reservation when I call to get seat assignments for the 2 legs of our trip that they are operating. Another call to Travelocity, this time to a supervisor. Surprise! The tickets haven't been reissued yet. He gives me some BS that he called Air Canada and that the Lufthansa portion of our tickets are currently under airport authority (WTH?) and that is why they are not available for seat assignment. He says that the Travelocity ticketing department is "working" on reissuing our tickets. Supposedly, it will be done by tonight and that he will call me directly tomorrow to get our seats assigned. Yeah, like I believe anything that anyone from Travelocity tells me at this point.
So, dear experts, what are my options in dealing with them? All I want are our new tickets. For whatever reason, Travelocity is choosing not to fix this. Is there a way to get around their call center in India and talk to someone who will actually take care of this for me? Have any of you dealt with this before and how have you handled it? I am beyond frustrated at this point. I KNOW that I made a poor decision to book with them, but I just want it to be resolved.
