I have a credit on southwest. We are flying down in december and don't anticipate using the credit. I thought maybe I could use some of it to purchase EBCI. It looks like I need to pay with a credit card for it and not use a credit. Can I cancel the flight and rebook to do this or do I just have to pay for it.

Thanks!
Tracie

I believe you have to use a credit card to book early check in on Southwest. I tried to use a Southwest Gift Card to book early check in and it would not allow me. I called a few different times to ask but each time I was told you have to use a Credit Card, not a Gift Card. If they do not accept Southwest Gift Cards, I would doubt they will let you use a credit.

Feel free to call Southwest and ask though. Good luck!

You shouldn't have to cancel your reservation to add EBCI. Just go to Change Reservation and add EBCI and pay with your credit card. Your EBCI will stay with your reservation, even if you end up changing your flight or getting a lower price and more credit. However, if you cancel your reservation, you will lose EBCI and it is not refundable or creditable.

As disney stated. You can add EBCI to your current reservation. Just go to view reservation and the enter in your info. Then the next screen will have links to "add EBCI."

They are looking to use travel funds (SW credit) to pay for EBCI, not their credit card. They are hoping the price goes down and then use the credit to pay for EBCI. I'm not sure that is allowed.

Yes, I have travel funds already for this flight. We aren't going to be able to use the credit in time for it to expire. So I was going to add EBCI to burn up the credit.

As stated, SWA will not allow you to use your ticketless funds credit to purchase EBCI. You must use a credit card. If you were just trying to burn your SWA credit, then you have to determine if the $10 per ticket extra is worth it to you.
