DD9 is doing a report and speech on Michael Phelps. She has the report written and is looking for ideas to make her speech "not boring".

She swims for USA swimming so she is bringing her USA swim ID card, goggles and swim cap.

Her other ideas are to either make 8 gold medals with his events written on them and ask 8 kids to come up and hold them.
Or to pick 4 kids to do a pretend medley relay.

She asked me if I could think of any other ideas or if hers were good.

The directions clearly state they should not just stand up there and read off of cards.
Any ideas??

I remember during the last Olympics they did a piece on how Michael Phelps body is designed for swimming. It was so interesting. Maybe you could google that and replicate the diagram.

Another interesting thing I remember is his diet and how many calories he needs to eat in a day. Maybe a visual representation of that? I am just thinking of things kids would find fascinating (seriously I am just a big kid :rotfl:)

That's a good idea! I found this in a news story:

For a 12,000 calorie a day diet, Michael Phelps' typical menu looks like:

Breakfast: 3 fried egg sandwiches, 2 cups coffee, 5-egg omlette, bowl of grits, 3 pieces of french toast, 3 chocolate chip pancakes

Lunch: 1 pound pasta, 2 ham and cheese sandwiches, energy drink (1,000 calorie)

Dinner: 1 pound pasta, 1 large pizza, energy drink (1,000 calorie)
