Hi,

We'll be in the Perdido Key and Gulf Shores area the week of August 12. (yay)

We have never been to this area so am looking for suggestions for casual restaurants with good food. Like places where the locals hang out. Remember I have a l9 and 22 yo kids with.

Any tips? Any good pizza places?

Thanks, herc.

North of Gulf Shores in Foley, Alabama (not very far--10 miles?) is Lambert's Cafe, "The Only Home of Throwed Rolls". It's a hoot. Check out their web site. We had a great time there and the food was very good.

In Orange Beach, a Calypso's. Wonderful, wonderful seafood. It's kind of off the beaten path, but they have a website with directions and everything. (Search Calypso's and Orange Beach. It should come up.)

MMMMMM. Hungry just thinking about it.

Julie

Can't remember any restaurants because we were there 8 years ago but I just remember relaxing on the beach. Have a good time!

There's a Ruby Tuesdays in Orange Beach. I worked there one night and the location is just awesome!

Whatever you do, stay away from any Jake's Stakehouse or Bubba's Seafood. They are both owned by the same company, and both are terrible! They usually have great locations, so people tend to flock to them. We joke about how they reel in the unsuspecting tourists.
