Sorry for the length

So here is the thing, we just got married in September and went on a DCL and WDW honeymoon which cost us well over $12 grand and I really want to buy into DVC. We did a tour back in September 2004 on our first trip as a couple but it was not the right time to join for us. Well with this F&F promo it seems like a good time but we just starting building a new house and sold the existing one (which we made a really nice profit). Well I was thinking that when our home closes at the end of April with the remaining monies from the sale we would look to buying into DVC. We love WLV and the boardwalk area but I really want the extra time on the contract since we are fairly young. I have been looking into resale and I have come up with a plan and that’s what I need the assistance with.

If we were to buy a small contract on resale (50 to 60 points or so) and then when the next property comes for sale and the time is right add more points (120 to 150 or so) or when the next amazing deal comes along at SSR is this all possible. Since we purchased a small contract do we still get all the perks of the membership (i.e. discounts on annual passes, dining, and tours). This scenario works well for us because it is just the two of us now and we can only go down for a week or less a year for the next few and if we went down more we could just stay with family at FW since they go about 4 weeks a year. I would like to have 160 to 210 points in the future but if we were to buy in April from Disney we would only purchase the minimum. So purchase in April through Disney or get a small contract on resale and hope that ROFR goes through.

Thank you for all your help and we can’t wait to join you all as members in DVC
Michael

Once you are a member, all are treated the same. If you bought 25 points resale then wanted to add on 25 more (50 total), you could do so. You get all the perks and your ONLY limitations are related to how many points you can use and even that is not that much of an issue with banking borrowing and renting transferred points.
