Help with pop-up ads

I realize this belongs on the Community Forum, but every time I try to open the Community Forum I get a Pop Up Ad telling me I won a Walmart gift card. It only happens on CB.

any ideas how to get rid of it?

I was having a Verizon ad on here. It happened on my phone and laptop. I tried deleting history and restarting and nothing helped. It hasn’t happened in a couple days. Not sure what the answer is.

Try an ad blocker. I use AdGuard (free) on my iPhone and also on my laptop using Chrome. I haven’t had any issues since installing AdGuard.

Are you on a mobile device? If so, switching to "desktop view" fixes the problem for me.

The Community Board thread suggests things like:
Yes, AdBlocker Plus (and making sure you have the Plus version);
Trying a different browser, because it apparently only happens in Chrome;
Turn off JavaScript in Settings (which worked for me, but also disable features like emojis, bold, italics, etc. on this site).

I have an ad blocker and use Safari, and I am getting it only on the Community Board (I had been getting it everywhere on the DIS).

There are a few threads on the Tech Support forum at the bottom of the DIS. There is more info there. Community Board is the only one I can’t get on because of the pop ups.

I use an ad blocker - uBlock Origin.

This works for me. I also use Firefox on my mobile with all of the privacy features turned on. That keeps away the pop ups on the mobile.
