Help with Points Transfer

I have a December UY cause i usually go to WDW in December

Next year in June i will be going to Aulani and a friedn offered me a portion of her points that she has banked. She would transfer me the points i need for 1 week in a studio in Aulani 154 to be exact

I will be using my own points for the other studio

My question is what are the rules for the transferred points? Can she transfer banked points? Do the same banking rules apply to the transferred points based on her UY?

You can not transfer banked or borrowed points.

No, banked points cannot be transferred. And Yes, her points retain her UY and the banking for that UY applies. The points would need to be transferred to you and you bank them. So if she has already banked the points, she would need to make the reservation for those points.

From the Home Resort Rules and Regulations

II. 6. c. All Transferred Home Resort Vacation Points retain the Use Year of the transferring Club Member and expire at the end of the transferring Club Member's Use Year, unless they are Banked.

d. Once Banked, Transferred Home Resort Vacation Points will expire at the end of the Transferring Club Member’s next Use Year, unless they are used. In addition, Transferred Home Resort Vacation Points cannot be un-Banked or returned to their original Use Year.

f. Banked or Borrowed Home Resort Vacation Points may not be Transferred.

So this leads me to my next question

If she has 2013 points that have not been banked yet she can transfer them? I am assuming the answer is yes. If so then when she transfers them to me they will retain her UY and have their own set of banking guidelines? In other words i could bank them once they are transfered to me?

Yes. Assuming she is still within the 2013 point banking window for her use year.

I was actually told that Transferred points do not follow the regular banking windows and that you have until the expiration to bank them.

So a Dec UY transfer can be banked up until 11/30.

To transfer, you have your friend call MS and provide them with your account number. It helps if you are both on the phone.

Once the points are transferred, you will not see them online. And when you call MS you have to tell them to use the transferred points, they don't always look for it.

Your friend will need to call MS. She will need your name and member number in order to transfer the points to your account. Once the transfer is complete you won't likely be able to "see" those transferred points in your online account but will be able to confirm the transfer by calling MS. You will be able to bank the points after the transfer. They will retain their original Use month and Home Resort status.

I don't believe they require the member number any more - your name and address should be enough to verify where the transfer should go but since it's a friend you may feel comfortable giving the member number to them for extra verification.

If you both have the same home resorts you may very likely be able to see the points online.
