We are planning a short stay at WDW for Xmas 2007. Arriving Sat. the 22nd and departing Wed. 26th. We will be meeting good friends who are staying at the Contemporary. We'll have enough points for us (myself and DW) to stay at any studio. Our home is OKW. Now, at that time of year is there any chance at staying at any place other than our home resort? We will make our rezzies at the 11 month window for OKW, but what are our chances at getting, say WLV at the 7 month window? Also, we'd like to do as many Xmassy things while there, what activities would we need to make rezzies for (if any). How about tempature? And lastly, any suggestions you might have for dealing with crowds at that time. (Other than not going.) ;)

Thanks!

I would definately change the ressie one day at a time! Then waitlist if necessary. At that point in time, your chances are pretty good!

Make sure you have all your ADR's in place.

Go with the flow! It is a busy time!

Check out the resorts! They all look beautiful at that time of the year!

As for weather, be prepared for anything.

If you call right at the 7 month window you may be able to get one of the other resorts although from what I read here probably not VWL - This will be out 3rd year at OKW and we love decorating the balcony etc. If it was just 2 of us in a studio I would also try for one of the others as I like to have the sofa available for TV watching etc. - not that we do much of that other than early with coffee or late with wine. One year I made a point of riding all the available transportation to go from resort to resort to check out the decorations. Drove to DTD - bus to VWL, then boat the MK and monorail to the hotels there and then to EPCOT and walked through to check out BWV and BCV then bus back to DTD to pick up my teenage son and his friend who had spent the time in DQ. I have never done the official CP package but have watched from the walkway by the show area. It is a very nice program. I think they have a couple of special "holiday tours" similar to the keys to the kingdom ones that might be good. The crowds can be a little overwhelming at times but if you go with the attitude that you will do what you can and what you can't you can do some other time it is no big deal. If we have "must do" rides we get an early start, grab a fast pass for one, get in line for another close by and try to get them all in early. If you have places you "have" to eat at be sure to make reservations when the ADR window opens for your time frame. We don't usually do TS meals then but may try for 1 or 2 this trip just for something different. There were times when a given park was closed due to reaching capacity but would open later again as people left so don't be discouraged if that happens. It is the one time of year we do try to get to the park at opening to be certain of getting into a park. We also take a break even if it is just to go check out decorations at hotels or have a snack somewhere for an hour or two to get away from the really crowded areas. Eating early or late can also help if you are doing CS meals- noon for lunch means long lines as does 5-6 for dinner. We also found that being prepared to layer clothing was a must - one trip we had temps that ranged from low 40's to 85 over the course of the week. It can be a really fun time if you go with realistic expectations. Happy planning - I am sure there are many members who have more ideas and information about specific Chrsitmas activities who will add to this thread.
