Hey all

Is there anyway to exchange older paper tickets BEFORE we get to Disney?!

I want to save the hassle when we get there. I would also like to link up our tickets and FP etc. but don't think I can do that with paper tickets. :(

First, try linking the Ticket Numbers to your MDE account. If they link up, then you can schedule FPs. If you will have MagicBands linked to your MDE, you won't need to exchange the paper tickets for the hard, plastic tickets as your ticket entitlements are in your MDE account. MagicBands will provide the link to everything in your MDE account.

How old are they? If they have a barcode, which they've had for the past few years, then you should be able to enter the barcode into MDX. One registered internally, they can be used for FP+ and will automatically associate with you MagicBands. If you're not getting MBs, you'll still need to exchange them for RFID tickets when you arrive.

If they don't have a barcode, you might still be able to register the ticket code printed at the bottom.

If they are REALLY old, then no, there is no way to do it. You can try and call, but I don't know that they do anything in those cases.

Thank you! They are only a few years old. I got them soon before the switch was made. I will look and see if there is a barcode!

So if we get the magic bands we will not need to
Go exchange the tickets at all?

Yes. I have paper tickets too and on my last trip we just used MBs and I never bothered exchanging my paper tickets (though I did take them with me just in case there was a problem with the MBs).

But to answer your original question: no, there is no way to exchange the old paper tickets for new RFID tickets except at WDW.

Hm. I wasn't sure if i would get the MB but might consider doing so just to save that hassle. I'll have to think about it.

I would not expect to encounter a hassle just to exchange tickets.

I thought it may take a while or if there was a line up. I have to exchange them inside the gates correct?

Also, if I get the don't get the magic band do I have to orint out the fast passes and reservations and bring them along or do they link to my electronic ticket?

The hard, plastic RFID ticket will provide the link to your FP data if you decide not to get a MagicBand. You really won't need the MB if you convert your old ticket.
