I am trying to figure out what to do for dinner the night we go to Mickey's Christmas Party. Initially I was planning on Artist's Point, but the earliest reservation they have is 5:30 and I thought 5:00 would be better so we could get to the party before it starts.

What does everyone else do? Do you eat at one of the MK restaurants or eat earlier someplace else?

Coordinating dining plans with visiting parks, parties, shows, etc is ALOT of work.

Thanks for your help.

I'd say the majority do eat at one of the Mk restaurants (LTT, Tony's open till 9:30p and Castle, Plaza and CP take ADRs till 6:00p).

The next group eat at one of the monorail restaurants.

The next group like to just eat light and do CS meal and get lots of rides in instead.

I'm in the eat in MK before the party crowd. I usually eat between 5:00p - 5:30p. I've eaten at all the MK restaurants before parties except the Plaza and I've also eaten at Chef Mickey's before the party. All worked out nicely, but I still prefer being in the park already.

You might want to decide soon because party goers have been booking LTT and Tony's since tickets went on sale so most of the good times are probably just about gone.

We usually eat at one of the resorts close to MK. We're eating at 'Ohanas this year at 5:45 (which will probably put us in the park between 7:00-7:30). A lot of people book the last available seating at MK restaurants (6 p.m. on most nights) because the park closes then and reopens for the party at 7. I'm not sure if rides are open during that hour so many people use that hour to be at MK to eat.

During that hour you will be herded.. I mean directed to Tomorrowland until 7pm when the rest of the park opens.

Last year party guests were herded to Frontierland and Adventureland instead of Tomorrowland. It was quite a surprise.

When do they open up the later dining times anticipating MVMCP? Thanks.

LTT and Tony's have been bookable since tickets went on sale. They are filling up fast.

All the other restaurants will take ADRs till 6:00p at 180 days out.

This is correct - we came out of Crystal Palace around 6:15pm and leisurely walked over to Adventureland. No herding to be seen! :teeth:

We enjoyed having an ADR at CP before the party - it worked out well for us. Less rushing (which I'm prone to do!). :)

Me? I don't want to waste any time at the parties. So I eat a late lunch and get the park right at 4:00. Then I either bring sandwich and snack, or have a quick CS meal during the night.

Last year my mother and I had a late lunch at Kona Cafe, rode the monorail to check out decorations at the resort and have a few drinks, then went to the party. We were full for the night.

Another time I had a smaller earlier lunch, a few drinks at the Tambu Lounge before the party with a friend, then just got counter service at Cosmic Rays.

This year with the kids, we plan on a big lunch and probably counter service something at the party.

So...am I understand this right? We should get an ADR for dinner between 5 and 7 in the MK if we are staying for the MVMCP? I was thinking of getting an ADR for the LTT for a late lunch, but if they "herd" :rotfl2: everyone to a section of the park, then I would probably be better off scheduling a meal during that time????

The last 2 years we at at CP before they closed and by the time we got out the park was cleared. (We go the 2nd weekend in Dec). I planned on doing the same thing this year but DH said lets try something new. We are going to Boma at 4:30 (I know it is early but we can snack later and I do plan on pigging out and trying everything at Boma!)

I was going to suggest to him the GF for 1900 Park Fare but after all the fab reviews for Boma he said lets go for it!

We're doing MVMCP this year and having dinner at LTT with an ADR for 4:15. :smickey:

We couldn't get LTT for the times we wanted (thanks to my procrastinating) so we decided to do 1900 park fare.

In 2002 we just did counter service. This year we're going to Liberty Tree Tavern at 4 pm. :woohoo:

The other times we have gone to MVMCP, we get to MK around 3:30 or 4 and wait to go to dinner. This year our dinner is at LTT at 4:55. That way we can relax and have dinner and just wait to party on. party:

We have a 3:50 reservation for tea at the Grand Floridian before the party. We'll relax and take our time and maybe catch that six o'clock showing of Wishes that they have planned before heading into the park for the party.

This year was our lst MVMCP. We have ap's so we went to the park around 4 and had an adr for crystal palace around 4:45, by the time we were done and wasted so much time trying to find the wristband place for the party we had already missed the lst show we wanted to see, so we did the picture lst. The cm;s we talked to at first seemed so clueless about everything and not one of them gave us the correct answer etc. But we wanted a big meal to hold us over all night long and not waste time on snack lines etc, so it worked out well for us. We had 2 of the teen ds get the cookies and hot cocoa and they said that line was a zoo too. THe 2nd time they went it was much less crowded.
