We will need to move resorts during our stay - we have a few nights at YC then the week at SSR - how do we move our suitcases and such with the least amount of trouble? Do we get a taxi or can it be done over busses or any suggestions......

Thanks

Although we have never moved resorts during a stay, I believe that since you are going from a disney resort to another dsney resort, they will move the bags for you. Probably need to contact bell services at the YC when you are ready to leave the room.

Bell Services will transfer your bags for you, but there may be a delay of several hours before they arrive at the next resort.

When I switch resorts, I take a cab and take my bags over with me. Fast and easy.

We had guest services move our bags. We headed to a park that morning and went to the new hotel in the afternoon. We were contacted by guest services and they dropped off the luggage and received their tip. This worked well for us.... By the way, we were on a dining plan and still had meals and tickets left our key. If we did not have any meal/snacks or tickets, we would have needed to go to the second hotel to check in. In this case, I would have taken a cab.

Yup, Bell services will transfer your bags. When you check into YC, let them know you will be moving resorts, they will put it in their notes.
The morning you are checking out, call Bell services, tell them you are moving resorts, the bell services guy/girl that picks up your bags will put them in a transfer area, instead of a storage area.
They will transfer them, but like it was said earlier, it could take a few hours.
When you check into SSR, let them know you have moved, and area waiting for bags.
They make it pretty easy.

Have a great time!

Transfer of luggage between two resorts can be handled two ways: If you wish, you can have Bell Services do it for you. Simply take your bags to Bell Services and explain what you want to do. They'll move the bags for you. Make sure you have all valuables, medications, eyeglasses or whatever you may need during the day with you. Luggage transfers can sometimes take a very long time. Also, be aware that occasionally, a bag goes missing en route. My friends Kev and Kiwi spent a great deal of time and effort looking for a missing backpack in December when it was sent to the wrong resort during a transfer.

The second method (and the one I recommend) is to pile your luggage into a taxi and accompany it yourself to the new resort. If you have a large party or family, send them to the parks while you go and check into the new place. If your new room isn't ready when you check in, store your luggage with Bell Services. You can check in at any time during the day -- you don't have to wait until 3 p.m. You may have to wait until 3 p.m. to get into your new room, however.

Luggage is not allowed on any Disney transportation, so you can't move it yourself unless you use a taxi or a personal car.
