Help with minivan rental

I am having a lot of trouble finding an affordable minivan for our October trip. We need an eight day rental and cannot find anything for under $450. Is this normal? I have tried the entertainment and costco codes which save $, but not enough. Am I expecting too much to pay under $400 including taxes?

Minivans can be quite expensive. If its possible, have you though about renting 2 compacts instead of 1 minivan??

You might check alamo. I just got a 7 day minivan in Sept for $199.74 using ACG coupon on mousesavers.

Check out Dollar. Don't even enter a code, just type in the dates you need the van.

I don't know when in October you're going, so I typed in 10/17-10/25 and got a rate all fees and taxes of $385 and change for a minivan. I've used Dollar in the past and have had no problems with them.

We're planning on using them again this December.
