I usually carry headache tablets with me on the flight. However, DD will only take liquid medicine such as Calprofen as she can't swallow tablets.

I see you are allowed liquids less than 100ml in separate containers provided they are in a sealed transparent bag. My question is should I get a small bottle and dispense some medicine into that and label it or will security allow the Calprofen/Calpol inividual sachets which contain 5ml which I would prefer to carry.

I really need some help because when we flew back from Paris I had 2 sachets which the airline said were banned and were confiscated!

I flew to Paris at the beginning of the month and had no problem with the sachets. I thought as long as the container held less than 100mls you were ok:)

Having said that I checked the BAA site at this is what is says about childrens medicine -

Children’s medicines must
be verified - security
officers will check these.
Only carry what is necessary
for the trip.
Non-prescription medicines for
children and adults are available at
our airside pharmacy after security.

So best to buy at Boots Airside:confused3

I took calpol sachets to/from florida this month. I had about eight sachets in the clear plastic bag and had no problem what so ever getting this through.

We are going tomorrow and I always take 2 sachets of calpol on the flight in the plastic bag and put a full bottle in the case.I also take her inhaler on and have had no problems before.

I will also take calpol sachets, but will probably also take fastmelts as ds can take these - I think they are for children over 6.

Dd jammed her hand in the car door 3 days before our flight to Florida. I took Fastmelts for dd as well as Neurofen sachets. The hospital had given me calpol and neurofen but in 200ml bottles which were of no use so had to buy the sachets. I got through security with them and was ready to show dd's hand if they asked about them. I bought Liquid capsuels for myself once through security. I got ziplock bags out of tesco and put enough fast melts and sachets in for the flight and packed the rest. Luckily she only needed one dose of medicine on the plane and I gave her some before and once we'd arrived.

oh my friend managed to buy 100ml bottles in boots the chemist at home and carried those on her flight to atlanta in ziplock bags too.

Thanks for all your help.

I'll try and take the Calprofen sachets. We fly from Bristol but have just looked at the website and there appears to be a new Superdrug opened up so if the worst comes to the worst I guess I can buy some from there. However, I'm not sure how early they open as our flight leaves at 9.00 am. I think I was just unlucky at Paris CDG.
