We are planning our honeymoon for October 2009 to Walt Disney World Florida

How far in advance should we book the resort and if anyone has any tips for me that would be much appreciated.

I’ve never planed a big trip like this so any info would be helpful, should i go with an agent or book it on my own?

We are looking at an 8 night stay with a 4 to 5 day hopper pass and also go to universal studios and sea world

was thinking of staying at the Port Orleans riverside

we are driving down so flights are not an issue or car rentals.

I need to try to keep the cost down but also have a honeymoon to remember

BOOK yourself, call 1-407 w-disney, the earlier they will let you book the better, make sure to tell them its your honeymoon!! everytime you make reservations tell them that! make sure to make advance dining reservations also atleast 6monthes prior, in October is the food &wine fest at Epcot things get busy!
also check with universal they do halloween horror nights all october on certain nights and those night the park closes early (its seperate admission)
actually sea world and magic kingdom also do stuff for hallowen, so just check.
hope it helps!

Just in case you don't know this:

If you are planning on going to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, you should definitely buy your tickets now! It's $79.99 each, 2 parks/7 days with unlimited access to Citywalk (it's Universal's strip of clubs, restaurants, and there's also a movie theater there!). The tickets are non-expiring so you can buy them right now and hold on to them until you go down there for your honeymoon!

Even if you don't go to Universal's parks for the full 7 days, it's still a bargain considering the regular 1 day/1 park/no Citywalk access pass is around $65.00 per person.

HTH!

Roguez- don't forget that Universal and IOA do a huge Halloween event on the weekends called Halloween Horror Nights. Keep in mind that if you are there on a weekend, I htink you get kicked out of the park around 6 so the HHN peeps can get in for the event to start at 7. It is an adult event, and I know lots of people travel up on the weekends for it so you may want to do your Universal visits on the weekdays.

Just a little fyi to help you out with the planning :)

Thanks for the great tips keep them coming im going to make a note of everything. I want to make this the most memorable trip ever

BTW we are going the first full week in October so we wont be there around Halloween

NP. Hope you get lots of great tips. The event actually runs every weekend in October, but the first weekend is typically slower than the others.

Good luck!!

:cheer2: YAY congrats on your up coming wedding. I am planning a 2009 Disneymoon as well for June staying at POR. I have stayed there in the past and it is so romantic and beautiful. If you want a King sized bed I would book your room now that way you have it and can feel like you have done something. There are only a limited number of king beds, you pay extra, so it is a good idea to call. You won't be able to book a package or dining until July or August of this year. Start thinking of what you want to do and where you want to eat as well. The California Grill, Victoria and Alberts, and Artist Point are all great romantic places to go. POR is nice also because they have carriage rides to take and the river boat to downtown disney that adds to the romance. Good luck and enjoy the process.

Thanks im really looking forward to learning as much as i can and enjoy the planing of it all

Congrats on the wedding! I too am getting married but in December, we are also planning a Disneymoon. We are doing a land/sea vacation. Even though its not until December I am a massive planner and everything will be done and booked in about a month, when they finally release the park hours for December. I don't know if I can help, but i can try, Ive spent hours on these boards and im learning alot about honeymoons at disney. SO fell free to stop by my Pre-TR and ask any questions! Goodluck!
