Help with geting a AP with DVC discount and DDE

I am arriving at DW on 3/3 and would like to have my AP voucher(with the DVC discount) and DDE email confirmation when I get there.
I read on a previous thread from Lauarbearz that she ordered the AP on-line and received an email confirmation Can anyone give me that link so I can start the process and then proceed with the DDE. I understand that I can get an email from DDE to cover my trip dates 3/3 thru 3/10.

You need to log in to your account at www.dvcmember.com to purchase on-line. If you haven't set up your account with the pin# DVC mailed to you eons ago, you are better off calling DVC member services directly and purchasing over the phone.

I called today, left my phone # with MS and another CM from MS called me back within an hour and I'm all set - credit card was charged and I got a transaction # already.

You have 10 minutes to call today. Otherwise, you'll need to call MS on Monday.

Is there any real benefit to ordering ahead of time? I called MS today and they said if I ordered before travel, I would get a voucher that needed to be activated anyhow. She said I could also just get the discount at a gate by showing my DVC member card. Is this correct?

In order to order the Disney Dining Experience card, you need to have a voucher or AP in hand. The OP wants to get that taken care of before going to WDW. You can only buy the DDE over the phone, Monday to Friday. You could buy the AP when you get to WDW, call the DDE office and have them fax the confirmation to the hotel. But it would be easier to order the DDE before you go and have them e-mail the confirmation. You just need a written confirmation to start using the card benefits. If you don't want to buy the DDE, you could just wait until you get there and buy the AP at the gate.

Along the same lines, if I order my DVC AP now but am not going until April, will it be good until April 06 or Feb 06? I do not want to lose two months on my AP. I also want to get my DDE card before we go, but I do not want that expiring early either and I read that it starts the moment you order it, so I was thinking of ordering it on April 1, so it won't expire until April 06. Will that work?

If you order the AP now, you will get a voucher that you will activate when you get to WDW, the year will start then. There is a grace period for the DDE, I ordered mine on 1/24 and it has a 03/31/06 expiration.
