Help with getawayweeks.com

I have been trying for several days to check availability for Skyauction's getawayweeks.com but every time I put in a request to check for availability the screen reads searching but seems to lock up. Has anyone else had this problem? Would a kind Diser try it and let me know if its just me? I would so appreciate it. Grammy

I tried it this morning and had no problems searching on US - Florida - Orlando for August. The RCI systems that SkyAuction ties into to get availability are often down or really slow, so just keep trying. If it takes a long time to get a response (or gives you an error that RCI's system didn't respond), try narrowing your search (i.e., search on Orlando vs. Florida, or search on a smaller time window (like a couple of weeks instead of the entire summer).

I have had problems with the getawayweeks site.. I called them and was told to use rciredemption.com instead. The good thing with this site is that is works all the time, the downside is that it doesn't tell you how many bedrooms the unit has. You find out when you call them. It does at least work all the time.

Thanks to all for your help. I just tried it with the Orlando search and only one week and still no luck, but I will continue to try. Pat, I am looking for just about any week for January 09.Orlando area. I will also go on the other site and see what happens. Grammy

Plans changed for Jan. We did book Orbit One for late Oct. The man who took my request said they have been having trouble with the site so he recommended the rciredemption.com. He said they will tell you the size of the unit if you call. He even told me the sq ft for the Orbit One. (1200 sq ft) as he said the units can be very different depending upon the property. Very nice man. Again thanks for you help. Grammy

I am looking for 2/1/09 - 2/8/09
is there something strange about this week? I only see weeks listed before & after that date open.

would LOVE a 2 bedroom in a reallly nice resort.
have stayed at silver lake ( would stay again)
but what resort is better?
& is it just too soon to look for anything of that date?

I'd rather not just grab an 'ok' 1 bedroom, if something great could pop up later

Sorry muffyn, but I am really a skyauction newcomer. This Oct will be our first trip with using them. Did you already buy a week? If so, you can probably call and speak to a rep. The person who I spoke to was very nice and helpful. They seem to be able to see the "big" picture from their computers. My impression is that the units they have (at least through the getaway deal) are not the latest.greatest, but good if you are looking for a reasonable alternative while in the Disney area. Others on this board are much more experienced and may also reply. Grammy

Does anybody have any idea how far out the units become available? I'm looking for April 2009 and right now it shows no availability in Florida or Carribean. I don't want to purchase the certificate, if I can't use it then. I realize it's probably a little early, but I'm just curious about people's past experiences.

april can be tough - spring break - although it has showed up - but it goes fast.....

I am looking for May, 2009 - so will say if I see April.

okay just tried again - seeing a little in April and May - so it soon should pick up.

there is something Celebrity Resorts - I really think you are late. if skyauction gets the better ones - it will be too late to go unless you live close by.

2-bedrooms with these weeks are far between - than Orbit One is all 2-bedroom and nice for what it is. It isn't fancy or new - like Silver Lake
