Help with finding the best time to buy my air tickets !!!!

Was just wondering if anyone has a good way to knows if i am finding the best price on my air tickets.. right now my round trip tickets are 202 before taxes so was just wondering if thats a good price or should I wait. Last year i think i bought my tickets in march and they 137.00... should i wait a little longer or go ahead and buy them now.. Also someone said to buy the tickets for one way instead round trip. i could possibly save some money... please help

I just bought our plane tickets for $199.60 total through delta. I paid $150 last time we went to Disney but I don't think it will get that low especially if you are flying soon. Sorry but I'm not sure if buying one way would save $$.

There is no "guaranteed" day/time/schedule to get the cheapest fare. Theories however are a dime a dozen...

1) Book when the flights are announced
2) Book between 4-6 months out
3) Book between 3-5 months out
4) Book at least three weeks in advance
5) Book on a Tuesday, Wed, or Thurs
etc, etc, etc.

There are too many variables to say "book on 'x'."
When are you going?
What day are you leaving/returning?
Where are you leaving from?
What airlines service your airport?

All that being said, my suggestion is simply book when you find a price you can afford and are happy with. Don't look back (unless you're flying Southwest). Make sure you account for any "extra" fees (baggage fees, seat assignments, etc).

In general, (excluding non-legacy airlines such as SWA), it is more expensive to book two one way trips rather than a round trip.
