We are doing a split stay at OKW and the Poly for most of the trip...

Originally wanted to just do a deluxe dining plan for 2 days at the Poly...but now am being told that we cannot get the dining plan because I am not buying any tickets (we have some from previous trip that were non-expiring which I thought was supposed to be a good deal.) The dining plan is not a stand alone right now. You have to have a room, at least one day ticket for each person in the room to one of the parks (MVMCP does not count) and then can get the dining plan.

So the amount of money for just a few rest meals will be more expensive then the dining plan for 5 days at the reg rate which I know I can buy through DVC....

What I do not know is if I have to buy a ticket for the parks for the DVC portion - or can it just be added on?

Hope this makes sense...I think the dining through the DVC has seperate rules than the reg resorts.

The dining plan for dvc resorts does not have the ticket purchase requirement.
Nor does the DDP for the resorts using the DDP.

Why not just get one day passes then save or upgrade them for future trips. there is no requirement they be used the same trip.

Not sure I understand this....I have been told by upper management, guest relations etc that you can only add the DDP or the DP to a package including room, ticket and dining???

I have been in the hospital for over 60 days this year with 3 kidney surgeries...gone through a divorce and had more than a fair share of crud this year...money is beyond tight and I have saved everything I can for over a year for this trip for my son's 18th B-day...we are only able to go through the DVC I own already, tickets I already have and help from Coping and Compassion partners due to the life threatening severity of my kidney issue... they are helping with a few tickets...so I cannot afford literally $340 in tickets...to use the dining plan at the Poly...but...it will work out to be only $100 more to re-arange some resies and eat while at OKW on the reg meal plan according to my calculations....We can use the snacks etc. leftover and get stuff fro the roonm at the Poly...so it will probably be a wash...:teacher:

Hope this makes more sense..

Wow, let me just say I am so sorry for what you have been through recently, and what you are also currently going through. I think you need this:

I really hope you enjoy your Disney trip and wish your son a very happy 18th birthday. I'm sure that after all that you have been going through, he is very grateful and appreciative to be spending his birthday with you!

Thank You Thank You!

I too am sorry for your troubles and hope things are looking up. It was my understanding (possibly assumption) that none of the DDP options booked through MS associated with points stays required tickets but I am certainly no expert in that area and would defer to others more versed in that area. I hope things work out.
