Okay. I need help from you Dis veterans that frequently use the transportation system:

1. Best way to get from Epcot to MGM and then back to Epcot.

2. Best way to get from AK to WL then WL to MGM.

I know I can get this info when I get there but I'm anal and want to know before I go. Thanks for any info!!:teleport: It would be great if I could just do that "Beam my up scotty"!!

We always rent a car so no worries there. I think if it were me I would use the Disney busses and go that route. I don't think you can put a time on how long it will take due to traffic etc. HTH

EC to MGM - Go to the Intl Gateway (between UK & France) they have a boat that runs to the EC Resorts. Pick the first resort stop and switch to a MGM bus. There is a walkway that connects BWI and MGM. Only takes about 20 mins from BW.

AK to WL to MGM - You will find a WL bus at the entrance to AK. Then you can board a MGM Bus at WL.

Do you think it would be better to take the monorail back to TTC and get a bus to MGM there? Thanks for the AK/WL/MGM info. I already have it my itinerary.:teeth:

Epcot to MGM : I agree with Grumpy92 about exiting through the International Gateway and taking the boat BUT stay on the boat and it takes you right to MGM - no need to take a bus. This is a very enjoyable ride and a great rest ! It does take a few minutes but you get to see all the EPCOT resorts and the Boardwalk area. This is one of my DD's Fave "Disney rides" ! Personally, I wouldn't go through TTC for this transfer.

I agree the boat is your best route. However your fastest route would probably be to walk it, especially if you have to wait on a boat.

To answer your other question, it wouldn't make any sense at all to take the monorail to the TTC and then get a bus to MGM. That would take you a lot longer, especially when you factor in the wait time for the monorail and the wait time for the bus.

Really!! It goes straight to MGM. That sounds like a nice ride. I will have a PS at Whispering Canyons so I think if we're running early I'm definetly going to take the boat to MGM. Never did that before. Sounds nice. But if we're running late, might walk like the next poster suggests if walking is quicker. Is it a long walk? Okay...so I definetly won't do the Monorail to TTC. Thanks you guys for all your help. I really appreciate it!!!

The walk at a normal pace is probably 20-30 minutes. The boat will take about 30 minutes as well. If the boat is at the dock when you leave the gateway, then you may just want to take the boat. But if you have to wait for the boat, then walking is faster.

I do have a question for you, though. You menione that you have a PS at Whispering Canyons as if it is at MGM. Whispering Canyon is at Wilderness Lodge. Hopefully I'm just misunderstanding your post, but I wanted to make sure you weren't going to the wrong place for your PS.

You know what. You're right. I'm getting my days confused. One day I have to go Epcot/MGM/Epcot and the NEXT day I'm going AK/Whispering Canyons/MGM. Sorry to confuse you. I'm confused too!!  So the boat is a definite. It'll give us a break from walking!!::yes::

You do not have to go from Epcot to TTC to get a MGM bus. There is a direct bus from Epcot to MGM and MGM to Epcot.:)

just one point about the boat - it is not eactly STRAIGHT to MGM. You do make three stops.

Rather than getting on it at EPCOT (just outside the IG), I prefer to walk on down to the Beach club dock. I fyou board there, you'll only have to endure one more stop towards MGM. I would also get off there on the way back.

IMO the method of geting to MGM from Epcot depends on where you are at in Epcot at the time. If you are in FW, it is much easier to take the bus to MGM. If you are in WS, take the boat.

Okay, if I'm in WS I'm better off taking the boat (which also makes three more stops) but if I'm in FW I should take the bus. Hope I'm getting that right. Does the bus make any other stops? And how long does the boat take (with the 3 stops)?

The boat will take about 20 minutes once you board it and the bus takes about 10 minutes once you board it.The bus is a direct bus to MGM.The boat is more fun-I consider it an "attraction".:D

Well actually you would take the boat to MGM wherever you are at Epcot, as it is much more pleasant and faster than any buses. 20-30 mins IG to MG is about right, including wait time. It is very pleasant, and we agree that it's one of our favorite Disney "attractions", and one reason we bought DVC at BW.

Epcot - MGM or MGM - Epcot will be a boat trip. Enjoy!

You can take the boat from the World Showcase (between France and the UK), or from the front of the park, you can take the Bus. Both run about every 15-20 minutes, the boat will take 30, and the bus will take 12. To come back to Epcot, reverse the trip.

2. Best way to get from AK to WL then WL to MGM.

From AK, there is a bus that goes directly to Wilderness Lodge. I believe it is bus stop #1. From WL to the Studios, there is also a direct bus.

Well... not exact, but good estimates. All times are subject to change based on drivers, traffic and other things going on.
