Please help :
I have about 92 development points left to use by oct 1.
Should I borrow from my real points to make it comeup to 160 so I can deposit it for RCI to use over the next year.

Or should I try to upgrade my Saratoga Springs one bedroom to a two bedroom for this August and thus use another 55 of my deveopment points and lose the remaing 40 or so points?

Please help.:confused3

You could rent them out. You could use them for an additional trip or extend your trip. Given only the 2 choices you mentioned, I'd do the RCI deposit and do so now.

You can't rent them if they're developer points. is that right? If you can then rent them.

I would just stay longer! If that's not an option, the question is, would you be able to take a trip and appreciate it in the next year through RCI? If another week vacation is something you desire then definately deposit into RCI--you can usually get a good trade.

If you don't have time or money for another trip, then splurge on the 2-bdr for the trip you have planned!

You can rent a reservation made with DPs but you wouldn't be able to transfer DPs to another member. I agree with Dean & dr&mom, do something with them, don't lose them. iirc, if you deposit them to RCI you have up to 2 years to utilize them (?) but I'm not 100% on this so you'll want to get a definite answer.

Best wishes :goodvibes

thank you guys for your advice.
I think that since I cant stay longer with my august trip to SSR and since upgrading from a 1 BR to a 2BR would not benefit my family that much.

I will probably deposit the 92 developer points I have with RCI and use some of my own points to come up with the needed 160 so that I will have them available for an RCI trip in the future.

I agree that eating the developer points is not a good idea.

If you don't want to eat up 68 regular points you could deposit a studio or a lower season week by using less points. I'd still to the 160 but want to make sure you know there are choices.

Well, conisdering the ages of your kids, you might want to reconsider upgrading to the 2BR at SSR. More room for napping, etc. has been a BIG positive to us from the 2BR over the past years ;)
