Please can anyone help? In December I made reservations for 9/27 to 10/02 at BC while I was still at BWI. They were running a special promotion for free dining if you signed up then and started your trip anytime in August or September. Because so often in the past I have made numerous changes to my reservations - way too many some people have whispered..... - I assumed I could this time as well. We decided that we would be more comfortable at the POLY than at the BC since we will have my 19 mos. DGD with us. So today I called to change to the POLY.

I was told there were no more of those packages available at the POLY. If I wanted free dining at the POLY I would have to cancel my trip and book a new trip with a start date no later than Aug. 22 - which is the new promotion for free dining they are running.

Does anyone know of any way around this? Or does anyone know if someone else cancelled their reservation at the POLY would there be any chance I could pick up their package? The CM I talked to today said no - that since the package I booked had to be booked in December that I couldn't change resorts on that package at this time....

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I would change our dates except my DDIL - whom I adore - has already put in her dates at work and now cannot change them. I really really want to go to the POLY!!! If I lose free dining it will cost me $600 to buy the plan.

Unfortunately there is no way around this, the packages have booking dates and travel dates. They have to be booked within a certain date and has to be traveled on others and once that resort has been completely booked on for that promotion it won't be available again. The new promotion dates for dining are from Aug 26- Sep 22. If you want to go to the Poly you would either have to cancel and rebook with the new dates or pay for the dining plan.

Sorry:guilty:

Be happy with what you have. The Beach Club is a great resort! Don't get sucked in by the lure of the monorail. It's not "all that", IMO. And I have stayed at two out of the three monorail resorts!

Concentrate on the positives you know about the Boardwalk area: boat transportation to MGM and Epcot, great restaurants to use your free dining a short walk away, etc. Lastly, imagine your DGD playing happily in the sand at Stormalong Bay :).

That is really great advice and something I have already begun doing! I have always wanted to stay at the BC - had just started worrying about getting to MK - but I love taxis at WDW! Fast and cheap and easy.

Thanks to you both - I was afraid the CM had been right, but thought maybe there was a way.... So I am going to go book my ADRs now! Whoo hoo!

I would love..................To stay at the Poly from 12Jul to 17Jul. Any one know how I can do this? I am already staying at wilderness but refuse to stay at grand floridian, love poly love love love, this is the first time I havn't been able to book it.

Travelocity shows that the poly is booked solid for the night of 7/16 -
You might check with hotels.com, AAA, Expedia, or thru another travel site. Or split your stay. Poly is expensive Friday ad Saturday night - almost 500 per night!

:) good luck!

If it's booked ... it's booked! Like the BC, the Wilderness Lodge is a great resort. The pool is top notch with a fun slide and a fast water area near the waterfall. I like that the hot tub is right in the middle of things which allows you to watch the kids while relaxing. I also really like the boat trip over to the MK. It's a much bigger boat than the Poly's boat.

Branch out! Enjoy a different resort experience. It's not the end of the world ... you're in Disney World!

Very true very true, don't want every disney experience to be the same, most of my itenerary is based arround magic kingdom and grand floridian because of the spa but this is because I prefer poly. Don't care about the price, money is no objective when it involves me taking my mom on vacation for her 60th b-day, hmm now I feel old, i'm 25. But so this vacation is about her, the spa, margahritas and boat trips.
