I have a G5 that I bought new when the 5.0 MP was just coming out. It's not new, but I don't use it often. I have a small Kodak I use for those small around the house type pictures. When I bought it, I bought 2 batteries, so I'd hopefully not get stuck with a dead battery anytime. It has the type of battery that you charge in camera. Which can be a pain.
Anyway, the end of May, I took it to an event and a bunch of the photos came out black. I didn't think anything of it, becuase it was an extrememly bright day and the photos that didn't come out was a huge statue and thought it was from reflections. 1 photo was excellent, and the next of this statue would not turn out.
About a month after this, I went to another outside event. Another very bright day. But not a big deal. Some of these also came out black. And I had to use my computer hardware to lighten the photos up. They came out okay. But not the usual excellent photos. BTW......... I only use the auto feature.
I just got my camera out, to take a few pictures of my neice. They seemed fine (indoor). And when I went to turn the camera off, the lens would not retract. I don't know if these incidents are related, if perhaps the battery wasn't strong enough at this point retract the lens, or if they are of a similar problem.
Does anyone have any idea of what my problem could be? Major or Minor? I was hoping to get a camcorder for vacation before having to replace a camera. I'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions someone might have.
