Help with April plans please!

We're going to WDW on 4/24/04 for 8 nights. My question concerns passes. I was going to purchase 5-day park hopper plus passes with my Disney Club discount at my Disney Store. Then I started to wonder if the Fairytale Package might become available again for those dates. I have a room-only reservation right now that can be switched to the package. The clerk also said that the prices on the hoppers will probably go up in October. Should I hold out and see what happens, or get the hoppers at a great price now and forget the Fairytale? Does this all make sense??It's late, and I'm rambling! Thanks, as always, for all your help!!!

You're asking a good question! I bought our tickets in December for our Jan2004 trip. I got the DC discount - and then the tickets went up in the Winter, and as you say, they'll go up again in the Fall, so I did pretty good.

Now here comes the FairyTale Pkg. If it is extended to cover our trip, I will really have to look at it to see if I would be better off holding on to the DC tickets. They never expire so that is a good thing - but who wants to sit on a thousand dollars worth of tickets!

I'm glad you are looking at the 5-day hopper passes. I have made mistakes in the past purchasing length of stay tickets, that we didn't fully use, and that is money wasted. Even this trip, I bought 7day hopper passes and now realize I could have squeaked by on sixday hopper passes - oh well!!!

IMO - The DC discount won't be around after this year - and the tickets will go up in the Fall. I'd buy them now. The Fairy Tale package might not even be available for your trip.

I had a similar dilemma for our 8/03 trip. I had planned all along to by PHP's, but not until the week before departure. Then the FTP came along and I jumped at it. I'm also in the Disney Club, so I would have had a discount on the PHP's.

The thing is, even if the FTP is available for 4/04, you may not know that it's available before the Disney Club expires on 12/31. I would say that even if the price goes up in the Fall it wouldn't be by that much (just a guess), so this is what I would do in your situation:

Wait until December and just before the DC expires, if there's no package available, buy the PHP's. If later on, a package becomes available for April, (assuming you can afford it), book the package and save the PHP's for another trip.

The alternative is to wait until closer to April and decide once you know which would be cheaper, but you lose the DC discount.

Wow, that's a tough one.
