Hi Folks, I am looking to fly Allegiant into Sanford from Bangor. Is priority boarding necessary as it adds $130 to the trip? Thanks.

They will nickel and dime you to death.

We don't add anything except luggage, our flight is only 2 hrs so we don't pay for seats or priority boarding or any other thing they can think of to make a buck.

The only reason I can think of that you would need Priority Boarding is if you travel with carry-ons that you absolutely must have on board with you. If you do not have Priority Boarding, there's always the chance that the overheads are full by the time you get on, and they will make you gate check your carry-on. This happened to us on the return from Orlando home last year. It was no big deal, but then we had to add an additional 20 min. in the airport going to the baggage carousel to retrieve our carry-ons. Had we not had to gate check them, we would have been straight to the car & on the road more quickly.

If that's not important to you, don't pay extra for Priority Boarding.

Hi leblanat, we live in Orono and fly out of Bangor too- but not on Allegiant, as I can't stand the nickel-and-diming attitude. I would skip priority boarding with allegiant. Also, don't forget that if you buy your tickets online there is a surcharge; you have to go to the airport to buy tix without additional cost. I think Allegiant at BGR is open about 90 minutes before and after flight departure/arrival times. Too much hassle for me. We are taking a 6am flight on Delta from BAngor to MCO in August, returning to PWM on an 11am AirTran flight. We will take the bus from PWM to Bangor, as it's cheaper to do this than drive RT to Portland and park at the airport... and of course RT airfare from Bangor is prohibitively expensive :scared1:. My airfare is $233 pp, tax included. Good luck flying with Allegiant; I have friends here who do it but always qualify their opinions by saying they'll do anything to get the airfare they are willing to pay!
