Can a veteran explain the Animal Kingdom Lodge views to me? We are thinking of adding on a few nights there if good AP rates come out. I specifically want to know what "standard view" means; I fear it means "parking lot view" yet seems to guarantee a shorter walk to amenities. Some of those savannah rooms are a hike... How about pool view? Are those rooms really noisy?

We'd need non-smoking. Thanks!

ok - refer to this map.

standard view means parking lot. sorry. :) those would be on the Ostrich and Giraffe trail rooms facing the front of the lodge. (I belive there are more parking lot views - but I honestly don't remember which)

yes, some savannah views CAN be a hike...but it's a great resort to walk through in my opinion.

not sure how noisy pool rooms would be...haven't been there during a peak season...but i gather it could get a bit loud being that that's the only pool.

Thanks, I suspected as much. Parking-lot view just doesn't do it for me... If I go, I'd at least want "pool view" which looks OK on the map... Not so close to the pool so as to be really noisy.

Do AP rates typically apply to ALL views and just price-adjust accordingly?

Has anyone stayed in a pool-view room?

If I spring for a savannah view, are all the views good or are there some "stinkers?" Can you make requests?

Thanks! :)

i was wondering the same thing does anybody know if deluxe rooms are closer to the pool are are the everywhere.::MinnieMo

i believe AP rates apply to ALL views, and just adjust accordingly...but i could be wrong.

some people don't like being on the higher floors with the savannah view as the trees kinda obsturct the view. i can agree with this, however i still like being up higher.

not sure about "deluxe rooms" do you mean connecting rooms? I do know concierge rooms are on the 6th floor as well as 5th and the 2 suites are on the 5th floor.

I did some serious reading at WDWIG and in Passporter this afternoon. Working hard on poor husband, who is getting good and sick of my Disney plotting. He will ultimately collapse and say "Just tell me where to drive."

I think if I am going to this Lodge, savannah view is the only one worth having. I have two kids who love critters and I love the idea of sitting on my balcony and seeing the animals. Plus, I want to stay at all WDW resorts at least once before I die, and I AM approaching 40... Better get to it!

Thanks for all the good advice. Now to wait for the discounts...
