We are planning our first trip to DW in Dec. Here is our debate:

we are a family of 6 - my husband and I and (when we travel) 9, 6, 2 and 18 months.

I decided that we should get 2 connections rooms at Pop Century. This way we had more space, 2 bathrooms etc. However, this weekend my DH finally decided to look at some of the disney info and really liked WL. When I priced it out, WL only ends up to be $100 more for the week than our 2 value rooms.

WL seems like a better location, obviously better rooms since it is a deluxe and just overall seems like a nicer choice. However, I think that the rooms are small - we will have 2 in cribs.

I've glanced over these boards and many of you have been there many times --
HELP!!!

Are the water parks worth it on the first trip or should we just get the room, buy park hopper tickets and forget about the package? Do most of you take a break mid week from the parks. It seems to me that we would get a better deal just to buy park hopper than to go with the dream maker and the ultimate tickets? Thoughts?

Thank you so much - I just want to plan this out right and really need your expert advice!

First WELCOME to the DIS

I love The Wilderness Lodge, but I'm not sure if you would be allowed to stay six in one room at WL standard room. (it's four plus one under the age of three) If you are going to reserve two rooms at WL then you could request one with bunk beds for more floor space. They also have a Deluxe room that would accomadate six it use to be called a Jr. Suite. The cost is less then two rooms.

DELUXE-TWO QUEEN BEDS & ONE SOFA BED (sleeps 6) The Deluxe Guest Room has a sitting area separated from the bedroom by french doors, additional television, refrigerator with ice machine, coffeemaker, and wet bar. All Deluxe Guest Rooms feature woodland views.

The Poly and CR have larger rooms that will accomadate five But I'm not 100% sure if that would be five + one under the age of three, I believe it would. Maybe someone else that has stayed at one on these Resorts will help.

Your question about the Water Parks..For me it was hard keeping up with more then one child per adult at you childrens ages...If you stay at WL or Poly both Resorts have great pools for the children with slides.

Oh, I don't do packages just room only (we use the seasonal pass) and having a day off is great it lets everyone rest and enjoy the Resort.

You also might consider purchasing DVC points from a member for one of the WL villas or you might want to check out the FW Cabins.
