Last time we went to DW, we stayed at POR and ate at the restaurant there for breakfast every morning. I understand that they don't serve breakfast there anymore. Where should we go now? We want a good breakfast to start the day but don't want to spend big $$. We like the typical breakfast food (eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, waffles, etc.) and prefer not to do buffet. Help please?

Although Boatwright's doesn't serve breakfast anymore, you can still get hot breakfast and grab-n-go items at the food court, which is attached to Boatwrights. It's reasonably priced by Disney standards, and there are a lot of choices. Hope that helps!

Thanks! I was assuming that breakfast was a "no go" for POR altogether. That will help some. I know some of my family will still want a regular restaurant breakfast at least a couple of times throughout the week. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Other non-buffet suggestions...

When we stayed at Coronado Springs in 2006 there was a nice restaurant in the resort (forget name) that we had breakfast at most every day and it was good. Some of the choices had a Mexican / Southwestern twist which was nice.

Though not table service breakfasts, I remember liking the CS breakfast at the commissary in DHS (eggs, bacon, biscuit type breakfast) also I believe Electric Umbrella in EPCOT has a similar type breakfast fare.

The breakfast at Kouzzina at the Boardwalk is great! When there last year for first time and everyone REALLY enjoyed it...and depending upon your choices it doesn't have to be overly expensive.

Ohana (Poly) and Whispering Canyon (WL) have family style breakfasts, but the cost is similar to the buffets.

My family enjoys a good breakfast on vacation as well tha's why we usually end up doing the DXDP so we can have a nice breakfast every day. I wish Disney would off a meal plan that has 2 TS and 2 snacks per night. That would be perfect for us - a nice breakfast - an nice dinner with a snacks during the day for the munchies.

The Sand Trap at the Osprey Ridge golf course serves breakfast at a reasonable price by WDW standards. It's convenient to POR if you will have a car.

Kona @ Poly has a nice breakfast .... especially on an Mk morning this would work well. I also understand that the Wave (@ Contemporary) has just started a breakfast buffet?? Not sure if they still have the menu as well but the menu used to be very good.

When we stay at POFQ and have a car, we go to Olivia's at Old Key West. DH wants his fried eggs, potatoes and toast...
Sometimes we go off property to Bob Evans on 192.

Here is a menu of what the restaurant has to offer-- a lot of it is traditional restaurant breakfast foods, the only difference is that there is no waiter. My husband got pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits, etc. almost every morning.

My other breakfast suggestions are Kona at the Polynesian & Pepper Market at Coronado Springs.

I think the two best sit down breakfasts on property are Kona Cafe at the Poly and Grand Floridian Cafe. They both have very good, reasonably (for WDW) priced meals. Also, I know you said you're not into buffets, but Boma at AKL has an excellent breakfast buffet. In fact, the last time we stayed at AKL, we had breakfast there every morning, and I'm not a buffet person at all. I've heard good things about the breakfast at Kouzzina, but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

...Kona offers Pineapple/Macademia nut pancakes that are to die for :worship: ...no matter where we stay we always go to Kona for those pancakes and/or the Banana Stuffed French Toast ! Can't beat either one of these! :tink:

Since you are at POR and POFQ is a short walk, try their food court. With the New Orleans, Mardi Gras theme the beinets (I hope I spelled that correctly) are to die for! They are great. Of course, they have other options as well but it is well worth at least one visit.
:thumbsup2
