I am trying to see if I can swing a trip next year, what month is the least crowded with good discounts?? We went the middle of october and it was hot and busy this year..

Historically, September has the lowest attendance followed by January (after New Year's week).

If you pick a time when schools are in session it will be much less crowded that when schools are out. By all means, avoid school vacation periods if you thought October was crowded!

It was alot more crowded then I expected it would be. Very hot, they had heat wave when we were there. I have been during the summer and that was when I said "NEVER AGAIN". LOL so I know how it is during spring break and summer months.

we went this year september 15th - 22nd and the crowds were very low. it was still hot, but most of the rides were just walk-ons, and on others the most we waited was 10 minutes. however, one bad thing were the lovebugs, which there were swarms of!! so you have to decide, while there are very low crowds and few people, can you deal with all of those bugs??!! for us, we'll go another time of year to avoid the lovebugs!! next year, we're going the first week in december...

2nd week December
I took my boys last year and we are going again this year

low crowds, not hot, and even if they want to swim, heated pools (I am on standby w/ towels)

They are currently in the 5th and 8th grade. This will probably be the last time I can get away with this trip (the older one starts high school next year)
I know it is controveral to pull children out of school. The administration really doesn't approve, but, I choose to spend quality time with my children and create memories that they and I will cherish.

right now we are looking at the end of september or the last week in november. But I am scared flights would be very high and crowded because its right after thanksgiving.

We were also there last month during the 'heatwave'. Yuck!! I was also very surprised at the crowds. The only time that we had very low crowds was at the MNSSHP on 10-17. That was the most perfect night!!

I think September will have the lowest crowds, but its so hard for me to pull our kids out of school a couple weeks after they started.

From my experience it's been the end of August (after kids go back to school) the parks are nice and quiet but the heat is brutal and it rains pretty well every day for a few hours at least.

Also, mid December like the 10-20th area, the crowds are really managable.

We have had good luck with the end of January into early February. It can be a little cool, but I would rather deal with that vs. huge crowds. Too many schools take fall break in October, so I doubt I will ever try that.

Last year we went November 14th - 19th. The were very small wait times for the more popular rides and no wait time at all for the others. Not mention the was very good. We are going this Jan. so I'll be able to compare the crowd levels.

We were there sept. 19-28 and the crowds were very low. It is still pretty hot in Sept. , but we're coming from Kansas so we are pretty used to it at that time of year and when the crowds are low the heat is much less of an issue because you are spending less time standing in line in the heat.

WE have gone the last week of Jan. and first week in Feb. and the weather was nice and the crowds were low. It has been getting a little busier each year we go. Still it's anice time to visit. The further you go into Feb. the busier it gets.

The week after Thanksgiving. We did this last year and it is now my favorite week!! Crowds were nonexhistant and the parks were decorated. We didnt have a hard time with airfare. I got a ding from SW and we got $28 each way airline tickets flying out the day after Thanksgiving and returning Dec. 3rd. This is a great time of year to go- no heat also and we got to do MVMCP.
