Hi, we have promised my stepdaughter a trip to Eurodisney in September for her and her partner's 21st birthday. Our party will be me and my husband, two 21 year olds, our 2 year old twins and 6 month old baby. With this combination I'm struggling to work out what's best to do!!

Specifically -
1. Eurostar or drive?
If Eurostar, we would have to do the change at Lille version as we couldn't get the young ones to Waterloo in time for 0930 for the direct train. What is Lille like to change trains with 3 little ones?
If we drive, we can fit us all in as we have an MPV, but would need to put the roof box on. What's the drive like on the other side of the channel? What's parking like - and are there height restrictions?

2. Hotel -
Can see the advantages location-wise of the Disneyland Hotel for our party. But is it worth the extra cost??!

If anyone with mega knowledge, specifically who understands the problems of travelling with 3 little ones, can help, I'd be really grateful.

Thanks guys!

I find driving not a problem, there are toll roads but they are far better then over here. Although it does depend on where you live over here, it only takes me 40 minutes to get to Dover and then roughly just over 3 hours to get to DLP with a stop about 1/2 way. The advatage to driving is you can stop when you want, which is very helpful with children.

I feel as there are a lot of you travelling, then driving would be cheaper then Eurostar. If you go on any ferry site or eurotunnel site, it will ask you if your car is over a certain height (I think 1.83m).

Hotel wise you would prbably better of staying in a Disney recommended hotel to keep costs down too, but you could always check with Disney to see how much for there hotels it would be.

Parking is not a problem as the Disneyland car park is huge, and if you stay in on on site hotel, you would leave the car there and walk or get the shuttle bus to the parks, except with the Davy Crockett ranch you have to drive to the park, parking would be free if you stay there.

What car is it you have?

Feel free to ask any questions, were all friendly here and i'm sure someone will have an aswer for you:)

Hello dnb and welcome to the DIS!!

Usually any of the onsite hotels are handy for the parks. But having stayed at the Newport Bay with a child who wasn't feeling very well, and didn't want to walk, I looked wistfully at the Disneyland Hotel every time we passed by!! With three children under three, I really do think you could find the extra cost worthwhile. Otherwise, the Hotel New York is slightly closer to the parks than the other onsite hotels, and has the more spacious rooms like the Disneyland Hotel.

Afraid I can't offer any advice re Eurostar vs Driving - I haven't done either.

Eurotunnel ask for the height of you vehicle as they have two types of carriages - the double decker ones for low vehicles and the sinle deck for taller vehicles such as busses and vans. I'm sure it's similar on a ferry.

We drove for the first time this year and found it OK - and a lot cheaper than eurostar with teenaged children.

Hi dnb and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

As I'm sure some one else will tell you it is Disneyland Paris not Eurodisney :goodvibes

As we like the freedom of Davy Crockett Ranch we are also happy to drive. Have done the trip a few times with roofbox and never had a problem :)

I didn't say anything Reid I swear! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

But as always you are right! The name is Disneyland Resort Paris since 1994!

Can't help you with Eurostar or Eurotunnel as we have always flown, but I have been with 3 small children - not as young as yours though.

We once went with a nearly 3yr old and a 20mth - we stayed at Santa Fe - the buses were hard work with 2 small ones, a double buggy and all the stuff we needed.

We stayed at NPB with a 5.5 yrs, 4yrs and 20mth - it was a lovely walk round the lake each day through the village to the parks - although the weather was glorious I may not have felt the same if it had been raining!

If you think you would want to leave the park and return to the hotel part way through the day with the children then if you can afford it I'd go with DLH, or as near to parks as poss.

I don't do coming out of the parks and going back to the hotel - once I'm in I'm in for the day but last year we stayed off site and had a sick child - it turned out ok in the end but staying closer would have been a huge benefit.

Hope you have a fabulous time whatever your decision:cool1:

Thanks guys this is exactly what I needed - and sorry for using the wrong name! - see, I am a complete novice at this!

Don't worry about it they are only messing about, we are really friendly:thumbsup2
