Morning everyone :goodvibes

I'm currently looking at sending my parents on a weekend trip for their 40th Wedding Anniversary, and my brother informs me today that my Mum would love to go and see a show in London ;)

Can any of you lovely people out there tell me where to start, and am I better to book a theatre package or book seperately....:confused3

I think we'll be looking at either Mamma Mia or Oliver, and would arrange rail transport for them.

I can sort Disney out, but not London :rolleyes1

1st stop would be to see what dates you want to book & check theatre availability as those 2 shows are very popular & sell very fast. 1st would be to check direct with the theatres (we got lucky with Mamma Mia recently) if that doesn't work then look around at Lastminute.com etc for tickets. There are loads of places out there that sell tickets but the prices vary.

Once you decide the show then look at the likes of expedia for hotels near to the theatre to book stay (if thats what you want)

Lastminute do packages but as Mamma Mia & Oliver are popular it may not work out better that way.

Failing that many do Theatre/meal packages which helps too.

Many thanks for your reply :thumbsup2 It's a minefield......I'd rather book a trip back to WDW for all of us than do this
I think it's going to be a long day searching :surfweb: or maybe I could pass this over to my 2 brothers :rotfl2:

We've used http://www.superbreak.com on a number of times when doing theatre breaks in London.

We get tickets and hotel combined and they offer a lot of different hotels, both on price and location. We usually always stay at the Raddisson Grafton, which is a lovely hotel and isn't in a bad spot to get to places. The price of this one is a little more though.

It might be worth checking out the website to see what shows they offer and then calling them as sometimes they can find better deals for the dates you want.

I have always done mine seperately, and as Nikki says have used expedia, lastminute.com etc.

Train tickets are released 3 months in advance so try and get them as quick as possible to get cheaper davance tickets. Its usually cheaper to get two singles than returns. For our last trip to London I managed to get returns from Newcastle for £20 :thumbsup2

If buying theatre tickets over the internet - many of them using Ticketmaster etc I would phone up to book tickets as you can't pick your seats the system just gives you automatic ones, and if you talk to a human being you should get better seats :thumbsup2
