My family has been to Orlando on numerous occasions over the last few years. We have stayed at Bonnet Creek, Westgate lakes, Harbour Lake and Magic Memories. We need something different. A place that can accommodate my whole family. The parks are fine and dandy but I need a resort that not so crowded that you can't even swim in the pool without bumping into someone every 2 feet. I want something that is close to everything in Orlando, has all of the amenities but not all the people. It must be kid and teenager friendly.

We stayed at Mystic Dunes two weeks ago. Nice resort and close to the parks.

We didn't do any of the activities, but I know they have mini-golf and bikes for rent.

Vistana Resort is also very nice with lots of activities.

If your traveling before June 17, 2012, you might try bidding for on resort on Skyauction.

SkyAuction Choice Orlando Resort Special!!
7 Nights in a One Bedroom Suite near Disney World in Orlando, Florida Anytime thru June 17, 2012!

This listing is for a 1 br but you can upgrade to a 2 br for an extra $100. No ones bid on this one yet, so you might get it for $1 + $20 processing fee + $299 taxes + $100 2br upgrade = $420 for 7 days.

I recommend asking for Silver Lake/Silver Points, which is very convenient to AKL via Sherberth Rd and close to Hwy 192 for shopping and dining.

Here's a link to a search I did for Silver Lakes on this board:

We stayed there a few years ago on a Skyauction bid and got a 3-bedroom for about $450. I've only seen 2br since but I've been keeping eye out. Great resort with a good location.

Check out Marriott's Cypress Harbor. Not too big, not too small, 3 pools, and something to do for everyone. It is one of our favorites and you'll love the location, across the street from Marriott's Harbor Lakes.

Thanks for the suggestions, we don't want a private home because we love the resort life and I want my vacation to feel nothing like home. I did a tour at Mystic Dunes while the property was nice it was far to spread out. I will look into the Cypress Harbour and Silverlake.

How about Orange Lake? The resort itself is huge. And you'll be able to get a two or three bedroom condo.

I think the only wait to avoid crowds is to go off-season. Otherwise I don;t think a really nice uncrowded place close to the attractions exists.

Well, more often as not, that means someone every two feet in the pool. You have to pick your poison.

You have to try some new places. All the places I have been have multiple pools, including a quiet adult pool, so that is never an issue. And if you don't want to swim you can play tennis, basketball, on-site mini-golf, on-site movie theaters, participate in the resort activities, shuffle board, ping pong, build and race an RC car, go for a boat ride in the pond, rent a pedal boat, have fun in the on-site water park, do yoga, on-site fishing, hit the sanna, read in the quiet areas, rent a bike or 3 passenger trike, eat, or just take a walk around the beautiful resort.

Marriott Grand Vista, 4 pools, a lake with fishing and boat rental, lots of activities for adults and teens, kids play room, tennis, golf, bike paths and lots of other stuff. We're owners there and love it. Rentals are available - studios to 3 bed rooms. Just off I4 and 10 - 15 minutes from WDW.

Thanks for the Input. I'm going to look into all of these suggestions, but if you have more keep them coming.

We loved SilverLake! We would always stay there except now we have a friend with a pool home. The main pool is huge! Fun resort to stay in and the beds are to die for comfortable!

I would 2nd Orange Lake....the kids would love the 'water park' area and there is free shuttle service around the resort.

I'm not an orange lake fan. We stayed there a week. It was the one time we deviated away from a recognized brand and there was a noticable drop in quality (it was dirty). On top of that, and as mentioned above, you need to get on a shuttle (and wait) to get around. No fun. The other resorts are just the right size and you can walk to whatever you need. Unless you like golf, I would avoid OL. Go with a Marriott or Hilton.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom in the East Village at OL in October 2011...nice, clean, roomy...pools were clean, restaurants were good and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to stay there again in either the East or the West Village.

We have also stayed at the Hilton at Seaworld and LOVED the 2 bedroom there. That was 2008 and it was very updated, clean and nicely decorated. We were there in Sept and the pools were cold...my only complaint.

We are DVC members and would recommend OKW, the 2 bedroom unit or grand villa, if your budget allowed.
