My DH are in agreement that getting a filtered water bottle is a good investment for us. We spent way too much $$$ on bottled water on our last trip! I know that Brita makes the Fill-N-Go filtered bottle, but the filters only fit that bottle, right? Has anyone seen a filter that screws on to any water bottle? I could have sworn I've seen one, but I don't know where!

Where might I find a Brita Fill-N-Go bottle?

I want to know if anyone has used the Brita bottle does it take away the yucky taste of the water there?

I found Brita water bottles with filter in my local Walmart. Ask where the Brita section is, and look carefully. The bottles were near the bottom and difficult to see. I almost passed them by!

Hope they work well - this is new for us too!

I bought my Brita bottle at Walmart, but someone asked if there were a smaller version out there, and I was curious too, so I did some research.

The filtered sport bottle apparently was patented by a company called Innova. They have even sued Brita for using their idea/filter whatever the legalese is, I don't know.

So, I looked up Innova's sight and sure enough, they have their own product - a 16 oz. bottle for $5.99 and they even advertise that the filter can be removed and used on most water bottles. You can also purchase a two pack of the filters themselves for $6.99. They have a sport bottle version (27 oz) for $7.99.

Here's the link:

I wish I had found them first.

By the way, I haven't tried it yet, but someone else posted here that the Brita filters fit on most bottles also.

Good luck!

Culligan makes a water filter/cap that fits on a standard 20 oz. soft drink bottle. They also make a water bottle that is a bit smaller than the Brita, and is made of translucent clear plastic. I find that the Brita's filter seems cleaner than the Culligan; my Culligan filters seem to retain that charcoal grittiness longer, so they are more work to get ready to use.

We notice water tasted bad at MK and Polynesian. It was much better at Epcot at AK and Fort Wilderness.

I knew I had seen those filters somewhere else! The Innova product looks more like what I saw in a store some time ago. If I only I could find it again - SOON!

Richard Simmons also makes a personal water bottle filter and they are $29.99 (I think) from HSN.com (for 12). I will look for the Brita filters and the Innova filters.

Thanks!

I got the brita bottles at the grocery store (patthmark) a few months ago. They were 50% off so I got a few for our trip.

Relative to Innova Filters mentioned (by /on) which I buy over the internet, I have found them very satisfactory. I have a reaction problem with chlorinated water and thus always bought bottled water.

The Innova filter water bottle has eliminated the need to buy bottled water, and is more convenient as I can refill it when away from home.

While it is true that one model of the Innova filters fit most standard water and soft drink bottles, they also have a filter in a 16oz or 27oz. bottle that truly removes lead, as I had called and asked for the test results. The Innova filters also carry NSF certification, like UL, only for water.

I believe this and more information will be found on their website,

I purchased one of these awhile back and promptly returned it when Culligan replied to my email saying they no longer are making the water filter/cap product and Im assuming they aren't making the replacement filters either. I'd stick with Brita. More reliable.

We used our Brita bottle in WDW- the water tasted fine with it. Only thing I didn't like was how slowly the water comes out because its filtering as you drink. It did save us money on buying bottled water. You can try filling it with ice at the resort to have cool water.

2 helpful suggestions:

1) you can get your bottle filled with ice anywhere in the parks or get a cup of ice (water from fountains usually isn't cold enough)

2) at counter service mealtimes we'd get separate cups of water and ice, then immediately filter water into cups of ice. this saved on hassle of getting small drinks as they are more difficult to drink from than regular bottles; plus didn't have to keep getting up for refills.

I just ordered some of the innovapurewater filters for the standard soda/water bottle. They work great and were inexpensive (6.99 for 2).

Along with ultra quick shipping (ordered on Thursday morning, arrived Saturday morning).

I have already started using one and the difference in the water taste is very noticable.

I will definately reorder these for my trip in December.

We used the Brita Fill n go this past week. Taste and smell was great after filtering, timeshare water smelled awful. It was slow though.
It ticked me off everytime DH spent $2.50 for a small bottle of water because he didn't want to be bothered carrying a water bottle. Wish I had carried his and had him pay me the $2.50 each time so I would have more to to spend on pins!

I just bought the Brita Fill n Go at our local Wal-Mart. My kids are actually excited about using these. They were $6.99/each and came in soccer, american flag and white designs. They are a great size and I think in the long run will save us a lot...hubby and dd drink a lot!

I was going to post the same thing. I got mine this weekend also. It was in the section with the rest of the water treatment items.
