I am planning to attend WDW on Sept 27 - Oct 2 and was looking at staying at the All Star Movie because I have a 3 yr old and I know she would love it. The only reason I am hesitant to stay there is because it is so far away from some of the parks, specifically MK. Could anyone give me some advice or share there experiences with staying at the ASMo and dealing with the busses. I do not want to spend 30 minutes traveling to a park. Thanks:bounce:

The haul from AS resorts to DTD is the absolute longest (about 20-25 min). The others I found to be not so bad (AK & BB ~ 5 min, MK & EPCOT ~ 10-15 min). I think the AS bus service is the best in all of WDW.

We've stayed at the All Star Movies twice now - and we'll be back Oct 13-18!!! I think the All Stars have some of the best bus service on property!!! We've never waited more than about 5-7 minutes for a bus, and we very rarely shared with the other All Stars (maybe three times in both our stays)! At night, as the parks are closing, as one bus pulls out, another pulls in!

My DD also LOVES the All Star Movies - she could play all day by the huge TV right outside the Dalmations building! She plays like she is on TV and talking with the little puppy! Its so much fun!

I agree! My family has stayed at the ASM's twice also. First when my ds was 5 and then again when he was 8. Both times he totally loved it - especially Toy Story. The food courts are also great! We never had any problems with the buses. They were always prompt and plenty.

I have stayed at ASM without kids. The bus system for the All Stars is great. Just know if youo wait until the park closes or after parades you could be standing on the crowded bus with your DD. This happens at all resorts. There are more busses for the All Stars because of thier size. Just as long as both of you don't go into overload(which can happen anywhere. I am the king of that when my DS's were young:rolleyes: ) you should be fine.

I'm with the others. I've had better bus service there than I have while staying in deluxe resorts. We're staying at Pop Century at Christmastime. I only hope they have service as good as they do at the All Stars.:D

We have been to the Sports and Music many times but no Movies yet. The only problem I saw with the Movies is the location. It's #3 for pickup if the busses are sharing between resorts. Some of the times we have been there we just passed it and I guess they had their own bus, but most of our visits the busses stopped at all three and packed them on. The wait in minimal (5 min.) but I refuse to stand so I sometimes had to wait for another bus. Sports is the first on and first off, so we always had a seat. I just don't like to stand at the end of the day so keep that in mind. If the resorts are all full, which it looks that way until the end of the year, you should be fine and they won't be sharing busses. Either way, the movies looks like so much fun and your daughter won't care one way or the other...:D

the busses are not bad at all. MK may be 20-25 min ride but my 3 yr old loves looking out the window and trying to "spot Mickey". And the wait is pretty short. I've never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus. I'm bringing my 3yr old alone and the only hesitation I have is carrying her, the stroller and bags alone. And I'm sure I'll be asked if I need help. Thats what Disney people do!! But if your are hesitant, maybe try a deluxe on the monorail line if you can afford it. I'd go that way but not in my budget _boohoo!! But have fun!

Sorry to be the lone dissenter, but I just returned from ASMo this past Sunday, and we had bus problems. Not getting to the parks, but returning. And busses were not plentiful, we did have to wait long periods of time for the busses to take us back to the resort, and it was not related to parades or fireworks, I would have expected that.

Once while we were waiting for a bus, 4 busses pulled up for CBR, even when there were only a few people in line. In the meantime, the line for ASMo got long enough that not everyone in line could get on the bus, and had to wait another 25 minutes or so for a second bus.

I have no complaints about ASMo except the busses, this is my fifth trip to WDW and first stay at an All Stars. I have posted a review on the board here somewhere.....

While we've been staying at one of the moderates for our last few trips, the bus service at ASMo was fine during our trip a few years ago.

That's a common misconception. It's really NOT as far as some tend to think. Yes, they are on opposite ends of property, but the roads that connect are 40-50mph roads. It can be done in 11-14 minutes.

We have stayed at the All Star resorts 4 times in the past year and never have we had a problem with transportation. The trip to the Magic Kingdom is actually shorter than if you stayed at the Contemporary, because the monorail must stop at the TTC, Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian before it gets to the Magic Kingdom, a trip of about 20-25 minutes. The bus from the All Stars takes 15 minutes maximum. Also, we travel with a wheelchair, and only once did we have to wait for another bus because the bus already had 2 wheelchairs on board. Each time we go to Disney, we stay 10-14 nights, so we have had a lot of experience with the transportation system.
