Help w/ room terminology for request?

We are going soon to VWL and have a 1bdrm. Our single male friend is going too and I have a studio for him. I thought it would be nice to have them connected (we have a2yr old so when he's asleep we can hang out w/ our frined w/o me being stuck in our room). I know a 2bdrm would have been cheaper but I did not want to risk not getting a 2bdrm lockoff and him not having his own entrance and personal space.

So I want to request them to be joined. Is that all I need to ask for?

If you want a 1BR and a studio to connect, your only option to make sure that it happens is to book and request a "lock-off". You can't get a 1BR and a connecting studio guaranteed. You stand a much better chance to get the lock-off.

You could ask for them to be close but that wouldn't be easy for you if you want to hang out with your friend while your little one sleeps and what are the odds of them being next to each other?

I agree. Do keep in mind that if you get a lock off 2 bedroom, the keys will open either front door. Probably that wouldn't be a problem, though, since you are "sharing" with a friend.

the 2-bedroom lock off is what you wanted - you didn't want a 2-bedroom dedicated.

ask ms what they have - if only 2-bedroom dedicated - kept what you have - if any 2-bedroom lock off - change to that.

Your best bet as stated to get that is to call MS and have them switch it to a Lock-off... however, If you decide to just make requests on your existing seperate reservations for a 1 bedroom and a studio, have them note that you would like them connecting, that you are traveling with the other party and would like the rooms to be a lock off if possible. It is not guaranteed and you run the risk that it won't be avalaible, but it is not unheard of. If they can block it that way they will.
