Unfortunately, we can't afford an onsite hotel for US for our honeymoon (unless someone can tell me about a code/discount!), so I was hoping for some help in finding a hotel close to US/IoA/SW/DC. We would need it to be under $100 and would need free transportation to both US and SW. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Since you will be going during a slow period its usually a good indicator that the onsites will have some sort of promotional rate.
Royal Pacific Resort has rates of $129.00 a night right now for off peak times. This of course would not include your 2008 dates. You wouldnt get those rates until much closer to your dates. But, do keep it in mind.

Also, getting one PAP (annual pass) would entitle you to discounted rooms if available as well as discounts on meals, shopping. I have found the PAP to be well worth the $ spent.

Have a look at Trip Advisor for some reviews and prices (approx) for the Universal area, there are many.

Do a search on the user name robvia, he has a website with lots of great info on offsite hotels in this area.

You can also read some threads on this forum's orlando section.

Congratulations on your upcomming wedding! :)

:surfweb: :sad2: :confused3 (Dummy me orig posted 2007 rates here and Fan2CSkr already quoted it)- You will have to wait for 2008 rates. rest of message still applies

How many honeymoons do you get to have? Hopefully all with same person and in single digit area. So splurge. Have someone pay the difference.

In reality January is an expensive month for Florida as you probably know. $100 hotels may not be of the quality you would want for a honeymoon.

Good luck.

The offsite hotel page is here.

The Amerisuites is also nice.

Two weeks is a long time for a honeymoon. You only need 3 days to visit IOA/USF. You need 1.5 days to visit SWF. And Disney can be done is 3 days if you're doing the thrill ride tour since you don't have a kid yet. I'd cut back the number of days staying in Orlando, and use the differance to stay onsite at the Portifino Bay Hotel (PBH). It's and worth the extra money. If you are going to Disney, you could stay at their value resorts (All Star Sports, Music, Movie) to start your vacation, then switch over to the PBH at the end for 3 nights.

I checked RPR for one week (Jan 12 to Jan 19) and there is a rate of $209 as of 10/24

Yes, but their dates are for 2008.

never mind - :guilty:

But then wouldnt any hotels rates be no good until Jan of '07?
as hotels only book about one year ahead.

What about the Holiday Inn across from Universal?
Nope, reviews are generally bad. Why? Because they're part of every vacation package out there, which is probably how you found them. Therefore, the hotel is full no matter what, and the staff doesn't try. The real problems are maintenance, rooms in bad condition and the little things that get left behind.

The Amerisuites is the better choice even if it costs more money. If you're on a budget, the Best Western is nice.
