Hi, I frequent the camping board and just found this one. I'm sure all of you are as friendly as the campers are and will give me some advice.

We camp at Fort Wilderness at WDW and many people there decorate their campsites. I would like to make a "family sign" to decorate our campsite. I would like to have our names, hometown, and pictures of Disney characters on it.

What will hold up the best in the sun and rain? I was thinking plexiglass/acrylic would be better than wood. The sun will fade inkjet printed pictures, right? So I would have to use paint (what type?) or vinyl (where can I get it and how do I cut it?) or what else might work? I don't mind putting time into this project, but I'd like it if the materials were easy to work with. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Here is a a sign that I had made last spring. An ebay seller (8550scott) carved it from a design that I sent to him. I think I paid $49.99 plus $10 to ship.

I used a Patriotic Mickey fabric panel and used fabric paint to make our sign/flag. I don't have a picture to post as it is in our camper which is buried in snow :rotfl2:
