HELP!!! VWL sold out for 2/17 and 2/18

What do you think the odds of these 2 days becoming available are? I need a studio at VWL. I've waitlisted before at this resort and have had luck. What are my odds? I know this is Presidents Day w/e. Need words of encouragement.

You are still 5 months away so I'd say your waitlist chances are pretty good. Hopefully you booked a back up plan somewhere in case the waitlist doesn't come through?

I'm sorry, but I think your chances are actually slim and none, and slim left the building weeks ago. That is the Sunday and Monday of President's Week from what I can tell. These are two of the highest demand dates in the DVC system, plus you are looking for a very small resort, plus it sounds like you may not be an owner at VWL so you will be behind all those reservations on the list during the home resort preference period. If you ARE an owner and got on the wait list well into the home resort period, your chances may be much better. Hope you have luck, but I really would not get my hopes up.

Actually, I'm finding the week before the holiday has way more availablity. Does this mean that crowds are better?

I think President's weekend is becoming more and more popular. And I'm sure WDW is raising hotel prices that weekend for a reason. If you are able to travel the week before, I'd go for it. We are locked into this week, due to DH's teaching schedule.

Our waitlist for an OKW 1 BR Sunday night just came through -- but that's a larger room at a big resort, hard to extrapolate to your studio at VWL.

Presidents week is generally more crowded than the weeks before and after.

Generally, any time kids get off school, you'll find WDW more crowded - and even a day will make a difference. Families who don't mind pulling their kids for a few days but want to limit that take advantage, plus people who are close enough to create a long weekend. People with limited vacation time stretch it by using company holidays, too, so it isn't all kids.

President's Week is a very popular time. Right after Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving. It's winter break for much of the NE along with the Daytona 500.

I waitlisted for 5 days including that Sunday and Monday of Presidents Weekend last year. I called day-by-day at 9ish and got 4 out of the five in a dedicated 2 bedroom. I was waitlisted for Monday for a very long time. I got that day when the news got out about the pool being down for rehab. That was maybe 3-4 months before our trip. (In the end I actually did not take that day I was waitlisted for because of the pool situation)
