Help....Value or Off Site

lol.. i live in the orlando area and i booked a value room because I wanted the whole Disney "feeling" :teeth: Oh, I'm a cast member too so the 50% off room rate was a nice push to just splurge and do something people would consider irrational :rotfl2:

I would have no problem with offsite if the hotel/villa/condo is deluxe. We've stayed onsite for 20+years and honestly, the perks are ADR , EMH and the transportation. Big deal. Only 1 time in all the years we've been have we not been able to have a meal w/out a ressie and that was Cinderella's breakfast. As for EMH it's so so- sometimes so crowded it's not worth it.I guess the transportation doesn't appeal as we always rent a car. Personally,I don't feel the Disney magic once I leave the parks. The only Disney magic for me in the hotel rooms is the Mickey soap.LOL.Oh and the fact that there are about 6 channels advertising everything Disney. Don't get me wrong we've enjoyed our stays but if I were given the choice of a really plush hotel or a Disney value,I'd take take the plush.

onsite is the only way to go. We go for "the Disney experience" and the only way to experience it 24/7 is onsite.

Plus the dining plan seals the deal for me.

Maybe you are able to come more often than I am but when we do get there, I don't care what is going on "outside."

I feel you should stay onsite if you are going for five days or less. There is plenty to do at WDW to keep you busy from morning to night and you really wouldn't need a rental car. If you are going longer than that, you might start feeling really cramped in the rooms @ POP, plus the food court gets a little old at that point. We just stayed there and I really loved it (never stayed at a Value before), but I personally wouldn't want to stay there for an extended amount of time.

Off site hands down over the Values. Here's why:

Privacy Vacation to me isn't being packed in a small room with no privacy. In fact, 10 days with no privacy is more like punishment than magic :rotfl:

Food The food is marginal, and we rather have access to a wide variety of restaurants. Dining plans included...this is temporary.

Transportation Even when we stayed on site we rarely used Disney Tranport. I really believe people don't realize you can be back at the hotel faster driving than waiting in line for a bus- especially MK. And I can put the radio on, put the top down, and drive home in peace. The alternative is a packed, smelly, loud bus. Again, nothing magical about that.

Magic Magic is what you make out of it. I just see very little difference from being on WDW property, or staying 2 minutes away. In fact, we expereince MORE magic staying off site and renting a car, because we can take the time to drive all over the WDW property. Not just where the bus drops you off.
