We are looking forward to taking our very first cruise ever, and we loved our Disneymoon so much, we figured we had better go with the DCL if we want to be treated right on our 1 year anniversary.

Our anni. is at the end of August, and we know thats really bad for cruising cause of the hurricanes and what not, but we would like to stay as close as we can to around that date, although we are both really flexible in when we can go (I'd go right now if I could afford it). We are not picky on where we go, but we would like to have at least 7 days of fun.

So here is your assignment, if you choose to accept it: When and where should we go on our cruise? Remember, we want to have as much fun as possible (he's 24 and she's 26). It's our first anniversary, so of course we will want the Romance Package and all sorts of other bells and whistles you all can think of.

This message will self destruct in.......

Hi..:)

I would still cruise in August for my anniversary, as I have done it in September, and been diverted (but SAFE) during a hurricane. You just can not have one specific port or more in mind, as there is always a possibility of not making it.

One thing is guaranteed, and that is your safety. The captain will absolutely keep you safe, and go around any storm. Your ports of call may change, but so what (to me at least;) )...

DCL lately has been relocating the Magic for it's summers, that would leave you with the Wonder (4 and 3 night cruises), if you don't want to follow the Magic. Many do back to back Wonder cruises, thus making a 7 night cruise. Next year the Magic will be cruising out of Cali for the summer.

SO, I would do the Wonder back to back, and book the REAS package, which is Romantic Escape at Sea, have spa treatments aside from that. Perhaps couples massages open air at CC...

Enjoy no matter what you do.

You could sail on the Magic in early AUG,
Come on out to the west coast and do a Mexican Rivera crusie and then plan a side trip before or after the cruise to DL

Happy Sailing

Okay...I choose to accept the challenge!

So...if it were ME (and it isn't me, it's YOU so keep that in mind) here's what I would do...

I would want to do a 7-day cruise on the Magic. The problem with that for next year is that the Magic is on the west coast for the summer. There is a 15-night repositioning cruise in late August, but it is sold out. The first 7-day cruise is a Western on Oct. 4th as the Magic will be in drydock for most of September. So...I would book for 10/4 and then celebrate my anniversary at home on the actual day.

As a gift I would give my husband "X Days Until We Really Celebrate" gifts. So, if there are 35 days between the anniversary and the sail date I'd come up with 35 little things to give him...one each day. Coupons for doing things together, a few Disney Dollars (which can be applied to your shipboard account), a DCL lanyard for his KTTW card (I'm sure a fellow DISer could pick one up for you <I"d be happy to when I sail in Dec.> or you could probably get one on eBay), etc. That would make it feel like a month of anniversary, which would be fun, particularly since it's your first one!

So that's what I would do. I'm sure whatever YOU decide to do will be fantastic and a very memorable first anniversary. And remember, even if you don't sail on the actual date you can still celebrate it on the ship. Make sure you have them note it on your reservation!

(One more thing...there is still availability on the 9/1/08 5-day Cruise before the ship goes into drydock. That one has, I believe, two stops at Castaway Cay and might be a nice option. You could add in a few days at WDW too!)

Happy Sailing!

well for the end of august in 2008 you have the 15 night panama cruise which is sold out you might be able to book once the final payments are due there might be some rooms available than. than you have the disney wonder which does 3 and 4 night cruises.

We don't mind going at another time of year. We would just like to be able to leave from Florida, since it is considerably cheaper for us to fly there.

I would do the Magic Western 7 day itinerary as I like visting Key West, Cozumel and Grand Cayman.

In addition to the REAS package, I would do the exotic Rasual and if the budget permits the Spa Villa package and/or the Castaway Cay Couples Cabana Massage.

I think this sounds really great! I think we are looking at booking the 7-night Western Carribbean Cruise for October 4th. (The October 18th date is a second choice.) We will definitely add the REAS Package and look into one of the others.

This seems like an affordable way to go and we can do as CrafyMouse suggested and celebrate our first anniversary for over a month!

Thank you all so much for your help in making that decision! I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions as we go.

Isn't booking two cruises back to back more expensive then just taking the longer cruise?

I highly recommend doing a spa villa treatment for your anniversary. It's a great and relaxing treatment. I'm counting down until we get to do it again in April 2008.

Yes, it is but the Magic will be on the West Coast next summer so back-to-back on the Wonder is the only option for those who want to do a 7-day cruise out of FL during those few months.
