My DH and I decided to do a charactor meal this time to make sure our DS3 sees some charactors. He loves all the charactors equally. He even has a crush on every princess. We have free breakfast at our hotel so we'd rather do a lunch or dinner. Can you eat a charactor meal in the mid afternoon and how late is the last PS if the park closes at 11? I've tried to figure out who'd we see where and what is served, but having trouble doing so...I'm not real computer savvy. I know we may not get our first choice being so close to our trip, but we'll try. Any advice or opinions would be great! TIA

It seems like the popular choice is Goofy's Kitchen, some people also like Ariels Grotto at DCA, unfortunately I have not done a character meal yet so I cannot tell you for sure, I am sure someone else can chime in here though....

Goofy's Kitchen hand down. However, I can't say anything else about the others because I've only every been to Goofy's Kitchen.

dinner goofys no choice there
breakfast well storytellers wins with food, but princess an plaza inn are good for characters

Strangely, I don't think Goofy's is the popular choice on DIS. There are a lot of people who don't care for it It is certainly MY favorite, hands down (for breakfast, not dinner), and has been since 1992, but I think most folks tend to lean towards Minnie and Friends or even Ariel's lately.

You have to tell us, though, Clairabell, which characters do you like? Are you more of a fun, zany kind of person, or do you like a calmer, more relaxed atmosphere? Do you like all-you-can-eat or do want to be able to order off the menu? Do you like lunch food more than dinner food?

Its not about me, its about my boy :) He loves the fab 5, the princesses, Toy Story, and Handy Manny. We are the fun zany kind of family, but places can't be SUPER loud. We'd prefer an all you can eat I think because DS is PICKY and I am on a diet. We are not big meat eaters and don't eat eggs. We prefer one large meal a day so I guess Lunch or Dinner would do, not big breakfast eaters since we're not real hungry in the AM.

well my dh thinks the interaction at the princess is the best. an we love it we didnt like lunch food tho we want to try the breakfast one. but he also likes minnies. Goffys i ddnt like ..only at dinner.
Storytellers had the best food order off menue an get that yummy steak*drooling*

Okay, then that makes it easier and narrows it down - since you only want a late lunch or dinner, then that eliminates Minnie and Friends, Lilo and Stitch and Storytellers, as those character meals are all breakfast only. So your only two choices would be Ariel's (all Princesses, no fuzzy characters) or Goofy's (Goofy, Baloo, Chip, Dale, Pluto and guest stars that could include Minnie, Aurora and the Prince, Jasmine and Aladdin, Belle, Alice and the Mad Hatter, etc.) Ariel's does breakfast, lunch and dinner. Goofy's does breakfast/brunch (that ends at noon) and dinner. Goofy's is all you can eat - no menu - but there are TONS of options. Everyone can be satisfied there. Ariel's appears to serve family style, but I don't think it's all you can eat. Goofy's can get very lively, but I don't think it's TOO loud. They do the macarena at one point, but it is not ongoing. Just lasts a few minutes.

I think Goofy's may be the best choice for you - and I am not saying that because it is MY favorite DLR restaurant (because I prefer the breakfast over the dinner). I am saying that because there is a mixture of face characters and fuzzy characters, so you can have the best of both worlds.

If you want to see my Goofy's pictures from 1992 - 2008 to get a sense of the characters we have encountered there over the years, check out my TR (link is in my signature below)!!

Thank you all so much. We made PS for 7:30pm on Monday the 30th. I hope this is a good time and not super busy, I've been thinking about changing the time. I'm looking forward to seeing my DS face when all the charactors come to talk to him. I'll be doing a TR this time with everyone helping me so much, I feel I must include you all!!
