Help us pick dates for Feb.

We are planning to go to DL in February. We wanted to spend 5 days in the parks. I was thinking of going either Feb. 1-5 or Feb 2-6. With the first set of dates, our "weekend day" would be on Sunday the 1st, with the second it would be Friday the 6th.

Which is generally busier - Friday or Sunday? I thought Fridays might be less busy, at least in the morning since it would be a school/work day, but it seems like I read another post where someone said that the Sunday they went was less busy. Also, does anyone know if the Magic Morning days will stay the same? If that is the case, maybe it would be better to go on Sunday? From looking at the September calendar, it looks like the parks stay open later on Fridays, but since we will have two very young kids with us, we probably won't be staying later than 8 pm. Any thoughts?

Also, our main priority is to go when the parks are the least busy. Are there any holidays, events, conferences or anything else during this time that I am unaware of? We could also go anytime in January, but that's when we went last year and we were hoping to catch the Haunted Mansion this trip.

I'm also planning a Feb. trip with a young one (3) and am taking the exact same consideration as you are as far as a Sunday or Friday to get in fireworks and/or other entertainment... we chose Sunday, which will be the first day of our stay.

Here's what you need to know about February of '09...

Valentine's Day is Saturday the 14th. This is also President's Day Weekend, 13th-15th. I would steer clear of those days for pricing and crowds. Also, SoCal kids have a whole school week off either before or after, I'm not sure which.

Don't know about any conferences, but would be curious if anyone has any info.

I'd personally go 1-5 because them you get 3 magic mornings and the less crowded Sunday vs the more crowded Friday. Although a Friday will probably have longer hours than a Sunday! You staying on property or off? Also nothing going on at the convention center durring either of your dates...

We are staying on-site, so that would be nice if we could get in 3 Magic Mornings. I'm glad to hear that there's nothing at the convention center. I'm getting really excited for our trip! (Only 5.5 more months to go, !)
